I thought I would be a ‘cute’ pregnant woman, but I was so wrong
PREGNANCY should be a very special time for expectant mothers, but it’s not always so pretty.
Despite the images of radiant pregnant women with beautiful bellies, the reality is a lot grimmer.
Tyreece Gilligan discovered this when she was pregnant with her child.
When she found out she was pregnant, Tyreece confessed she thought she would be “so cute,” but the reality was harsh.
Post message on TikTok the mother shared photos of what she looked like before she got pregnant.
With flawless skin, a cute nose and always a face full of make-up and perfect herTyreece looked gorgeous.
But that all changed when she became pregnant.
It’s safe to say that hair and makeup went into the trash, just like anyone else who carries a human inside them.
But a lot for other TikTok users horrorTyreece’s face also changed completely.
“Sorry no sorry I will never get over this,” she captioned the viral clip that has received more than 1.5 likes.
The mother’s nose had nearly doubled in size, meaning her former lower nose was long gone.
“I’m so scared of pregnancy nose,” someone commented on the clip.
“I refuse to believe this is the same person,” wrote another in disbelief.
Another said the before and after photos made their “jaws drop” and another wrote: “I screamed when I saw the after photos, girl are you ok?!”
“This video is the best birth control ever,” someone else chimed in.
Other parents also shared their experiences with pregnancy noses. One wrote: “I had a pregnancy nose with my son and it wasn’t cute. I felt so bad that I feel for you.”
“Did you have a boy? I swear boys make me ugly and fat, my daughter finally made me blossom,” said another.
If you’re wondering if Tyreece’s nose ever went back to normal, let me tell you: “I don’t look the same anymore, but I have gained weight and grown older!”
What is a pregnancy nose?
According to Dr. Christine Greves, an obstetrician-gynecologist in Orlando, Florida, many pregnant women experience a “pregnancy nose.”
Speaking with TODAY.com She explained: “The underlying reason is that the hormones increase during pregnancy and those hormones dilate the blood vessels, which can result in more blood flow to certain areas – and that’s because we need it for the uterus.”
And don’t worry, while it may seem strange to see yourself with a larger nose, for most people it’s completely harmless and usually goes away about six weeks after giving birth, she added.
