I threw my son a celebrity style birthday party using only Shein decorations
A mother shared how she threw her son’s first birthday party in the style of celebrities for a fraction of the price.
Jessica shared that instead of spending money on a party planner or expensive decorations, she bought almost everything she needed from Shein.
She went to TikTok to give an overview of the items she ordered through the site and what they looked like when they were ready for the “Wild One” themed party.
First, she was given three ‘alphanumeric sweet boxes’ for £5.95 each, with the letters O, N and E.
Instead of putting candy in it, Jessica used the cupcakes in it, which looked very “cute”.
There was a little problem though, because the N arrived the wrong way around, but luckily the “cake lady fixed it”.

She received a confetti holder and ice cream cone gift bags for £3.75, which the ‘kids loved’, and a jungle themed balloon arch for £7.69.
“At that point a couple of animals blew away, but we placed two around the background,” Jessica said.
“I thought it would be a little bigger, but for the price it can’t hurt!”
Next up were three boxes with the letters O, N and E, which contained balloons. Jessica was so happy with them that she used them as “decorations for the house and for the birthday party”.
She bought a ‘Wild One’ backdrop for £7 and said it was “so great”, giving it a “10 out of 10”.
In addition, for £2 she received a banner with a photo of her son for each month of the first year.
Jessica bought four plastic cookie jars for a total of £8, as well as a pair of candy tongs.
And while she couldn’t find many green candies that fit the theme, “both the adults and the older kids liked them, so it didn’t matter!”
The last thing she bought was an adorable “Wild One” tablecloth, which she doesn’t have a photo of, but she said the “quality was so good.”
“I’m glad I saw this,” someone wrote in the comments.
“I looked at some on Shein for my daughter’s first birthday, but I was unsure about the quality.”
“She can be so inconsistent sometimes, but I can’t fault that!” Jessica replied.
What is Shein and is it legit?
Shein is a fast fashion retailer that operates exclusively online and is based in China. It has become a popular shopping destination for many around the world.
In 2023, the company was valued at $66 billion, dwarfing popular brands Zara and H&M.
The fashion chain was founded in late 2008 by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.
Shein is a legitimate sales website and not a phishing scam.
However, according to reviews, you may receive a disappointing order or experience shipping issues if you order through the site.
There are many complaints about the quality, which makes sense when you look at the price tag.
“How long did it take you to make the balloon arch?” asked another.
“I’m considering ordering one for my son’s Wild One party.”
“I even paid someone on my Facebook £30 to do it, like she used to do, haha!” Jessica laughed.
“I’m not very good at it, but it took her about an hour.”
“I just decorated my wedding with everything from Shein,” said a third.
“So, so impressed!”
