The post was titled, ‘Am I an asshole if I tell my fiancée I’ll leave her if she gets bigger breast implants?’

At the beginning of the post, he explained that he had been together with his fiancée, whom he called Laura, for five years after they met on a dating app.

After dating for a few years, the couple eventually moved in together and got engaged.

But since then things have gone wrong.

‘We have been living together since then and have been engaged for two years, although there are no plans for a wedding yet.

‘We are generally on the same page in terms of life, values and beliefs. We live childless and focus on our health, careers and shared and unshared interests.

‘When we met, Laura had already had breast implants put in. She got her first breast implants after graduating from college in her 20s and was honest with me from the beginning.

“Literally on the second or third date she told me outright that she had fake t**s. No problem for me, it’s her body and her choice and I respect that. I love her either way,” he explained.

He noted that her breast augmentation at the time looked “natural” and that she had it done because her breasts were originally smaller than an “A-cup.”

The 29-year-old added: “We have spoken about her decision and cosmetic surgeries in general. We both believe that cosmetic surgeries are unnecessary because they go too far and create something unnatural. They should be done safely and in good taste.

“She told me she was on the small side because she wanted to keep the look as natural as possible. During our time together, she had one breast augmentation, which I paid for.”

After her second breast augmentation, her fiancé decided she wanted an even bigger augmentation, which would make her breasts “a few sizes bigger and give you a lot of C’s.”

He explained that he had difficulty with the most recent surgery proposals because they would be “out of proportion to her body.”

“I don’t understand why she wants to do such an operation. The idea feels strange and I can’t believe what she has decided. When I heard how big she wanted to be, I was honestly shocked and thought she was joking.

‘It’s not going to be good. It’s not just the unnatural look that worries and angers me, but also the fact that implants that are too big can be harmful to your health and the surgery itself is risky.

“I’m really worried about her and I can’t understand why she wants big boobs. We’ve talked about it and she’s explained her decision. She wants bigger boobs to look ‘better’, according to her, she claims that’s what she wants,” he noted.

At the end of the message, he indicated that he had made it clear to his partner that he would leave her if she underwent surgery.

He added: ‘I told her I would leave her if she decided to have the big one she wanted. I never thought I would have to make a decision like that, but I feel like I don’t know her at all anymore.

“I thought we agreed to keep our bodies natural and healthy – and if she decides to get those giant breast implants, she’s not the person I fell in love with anymore, neither inside nor out. I told her I’m leaving her if she gets bigger breast implants.”

He then wondered if he would be an “asshole” if he left her when she got breast augmentation.

People on the internet filled the comments section and came to the 29-year-old’s defense.

Someone said, “Since it’s something you’ve talked about at length before, I don’t see why you wouldn’t comment on it now. It’s best for her to know where you stand, I think. Normally I wouldn’t side with someone who gives unsolicited advice, but this seems like an ongoing conversation, so I’m going to say, don’t do that asshole.”

Another user added: ‘I think she has every right to get implants. Her body, her choice. You also have every right not to accept it. Not that asshole.’

Someone else wrote: ‘Not that asshole. She has her choice, you have yours.’

One user commented: ‘Not that asshole. She’s changing her appearance in a way that you don’t find attractive, plus health and safety reasons.

“It’s not your fault, or anyone else’s, what the like or dislike is in other people. It just is. Attraction, that is. No one controls it.”
