I took my hair from thin to lush without supplements – my tips are free too
A beauty fanatic with a flair for money has revealed how she transformed her hair from thin to luscious without spending a cent.
From specialty nutritional supplements to luxury hair care products, the beauty industry is filled with hundreds of products that promise to work wonders for thin hair.
But what if you could give your locks the love they need and transform into a real-life Rapunzel without having to spend a fortune?
One woman claims she’s done it. She followed three simple steps and gave her hair a stunning makeover.
Abbey Tameron shared on TikTok that she was told “nothing can fix the density, breakage and thinning” of her red hair and that she should just accept it.
But instead of accepting that this would be the state her hair would be in for the rest of her life, Abbey decided to take matters into her own hands.
That’s how she did it…
Hydration station
The beautiful lady, whose locks you might mistake for hair extensions, shared her top tips and stressed the importance of drinking water.
“It really helps. There’s science behind it,” says the certified hair and scalp expert.
According to the guru, who posts under the username @abbey tameronDrinking water promotes blood circulation, which in turn promotes hair growth.
Moreover, water is not only an important nutrient for hair and provides lubrication to the hair follicles, but it can also prevent numerous scalp problems such as dryness, itching and dandruff, according to the professionals at New Image Hair Clinic.
Give your scalp some TLC
We all know how pleasant a massage can be for our body. But it’s not just our muscles and stress levels that benefit from it.
According to the beautician, a scalp massage is not only relaxing, but also promotes hair growth.
Make sure your hands are clean and gently massage your scalp for two to five minutes daily.
”Don’t use your nails, only the tips of your fingers.”
The young woman demonstrated the simple tip by saying that this stimulates the blood vessels, allowing more nutrients and oxygen to reach the hair follicles.
If you want to enhance the relaxing benefits of a scalp massage and make yourself feel like you’re in a spa, you can also use aromatherapy oils or a scalp massage oil.
The 4 Phases of the Hair Growth Cycle
Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen
Anagen phase:Also called the ‘growth phase’ or ‘active phase’, is the phase in which the cells in the hair root divide most rapidly, causing more new hair to be formed.
During the Anagen Phase, hair grows about half an inch per month [about six inches a year]and faster in summer than in winter.
This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.
Catagen phase:After the anagen phase, your hair cycle enters a short transition phase called the catagen phase. This phase marks the end of active hair growth and separates individual hairs from the blood supply and the cells that produce new hair.
About three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any one time and it lasts about 10 days.
Telogen phase:The third phase of your natural hair growth cycle is the telogen phase, a resting period during which hairs remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.
It is estimated that 10-15 percent of your hair is in the telogen phase at any given time.
The telogen phase lasts about three months or 100 days.
Exogenous phase:The final stage of the hair growth cycle, when individual hair strands release from their follicles and fall out.
Now the whole process starts again.
Stop washing the ends of your hair
Finally, the guru urged other beauty lovers to stop washing the ends of their hair and focus on their scalp instead.
“I promise you, it will work. I haven’t washed the ends of my hair in five years.”
When your hair is wet, she warned, it is “super fragile” and all the hard scrubbing and rubbing “will cause unnecessary breakage.”
“Just try it, trust me.”
