DIY fan Melissa Walker, from the UK, said cheap purchases from Amazon, B&M, B&Q and Matalan helped her transform her bathroom from drab to fabulous.

Delighted with her bathroom’s transformation, Melissa took to social media to share a before and after look at the space, leaving many open-mouthed.

Post on DIY on a budget officera private Facebook group with 2.2 million members, Melissa posted a photo of her bathroom before renovating it, along with photos of the finished space.

Alongside the post, Melissa wrote: “Our downstairs bathroom/shower room. We completely stripped the shower and rebuilt it.”

She then confirmed: “All the work in this room we did ourselves on a budget of £500, although we already had the tiles left over from a relative’s house.”

Melissa told Fabulous about her bathroom makeover, explaining that she bought her sink, tap and basin from welove.co.uk.

Not only did the tiling make a big difference in the space, but she also used Valspar paint, in the shade Haunting Melody, to add color and style to the once very dark and dated bathroom.

She also bought her shower screen from Manomano.co.uk and her shower and toilet seat from Amazon.

But when it came to accessories for the space, Melissa bought her round mirror and her potted plants from B&M.

She then got her towel rail and toilet roll holder from B&Q and art prints from Matalan.

We hated the boarded up railing in our new house, so took it off and hit the jackpot – now it looks like Barbie’s dream house

To complete the space, Melissa added wall art, which she ordered online from Etsy.

We think Melissa’s space looks fantastic – and thanks to her budget purchases and a lick of paint, it’s super stylish yet incredibly unique.

Melissa’s light-up bathroom has clearly impressed many, as her post quickly racked up 344 likes and 58 comments.

Facebook users were left open-mouthed at the bathroom transformation and many were eager to share it in the comments.

Not only did users think it looked “pretty,” but many praised Melissa’s choice of purple paint.

One person said: “I would never have chosen purple but wow!! It really pops and looks absolutely luscious!!

Another said: “I would never have chosen purple for a bathroom but I really love it.

“Probably one of the best transformations I’ve seen too, looks beautiful!”

A third commented: “Stunning colour, looks beautiful.”

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “Looks absolutely amazing.”

While another DIY fan chimed in: “I love this. Currently I am working on the bathroom for my little girls little by little and I think I will go for the same color. It’s beautiful.”
