In her viral videoTikTok user Eva Smith (@evasmithholiday) walked her followers through each of her decorating steps.

She explained that she was going for a “vintage” look with her Christmas tree decorations.

For her first step, the TikToker assembled her plastic tree and shook the branches.

She then wrapped the trunk of the tree with a string of white lights.

She then hung lights around each individual branch of her tree so that they were all covered.

Eva then placed her “warm” decorations around the tree trunk.

She explained that she starts by placing them close to the trunk and works outward during the decorating process.

For balance, she focuses on placing ‘cool’ ornaments next to the warm tones.

Next, Eva took out her larger ornaments and used them to fill the tree.

She also recommended using this time to add more lights if you notice bald spots.

She then worked her way down in size with her ornaments, from medium to small, before finally adding her “small” ornaments.

Shoppers are rushing to The Range to snap up ‘magical’ £14.99 Christmas buy that your kids will love and it will light up your home in seconds

To fluff and fill the tree even more, Eva has attached a garland to the branches.

You can pick one up Vegetable Festive Christmas garland for just £2.39 from Temu.

As a finishing touch, she strung some tinsel around the transformed tree.

You can pick up Classic Christmas tinsel for only €3.02, also from Temu.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on the tree tips in the comments section.

How do you care for your real Christmas tree?

HERE’S what you need to know when buying a real Christmas tree:

First things first: buy a jar (if it isn’t already in).

You should treat your tree like a houseplant and give it water and attention.

Make sure the container has good drainage. It’s a good idea to put something underneath to catch the excess water.

Check the soil every day to make sure it is not drying out.

If it feels dry, give it some water. If it still feels damp, leave it alone as too much water can also kill a tree.

Also check that the LED bulbs of your tree lights are not too hot, as this can burn them, and keep your tree away from radiators.

Once Christmas is over, try planting it in the garden so you can dig it up and use it again next year.

However, it is a good idea to remove it from the pot when you replant it, as large trees do not survive well in pots as their roots need room to grow.

“Is that a tree on Ozempic?” one shocked commentator joked.

“I really had to trust the process,” wrote one impressed viewer.

“This tree is insane and I love it,” said a second follower.

“I hated this. And then I loved it, wow,” said a third person.

“Wow! I didn’t have high hopes for that skinny tree, but you made it beautiful,” said another TikTok user.

“I was so skeptical about the first photo, but this turned out extremely well!” one viewer agreed.

“How is it so MAGICAL?” another person asked.
