I tried hydrating facial mist – one is loved by celebrities and influencers
MOISTURIZING facial mist isn’t just for summer.
As temperatures drop and the wind blows, it’s just as important to keep your skin calm and balanced in autumn. That’s why I road tested three of them this week.
Budget
Boots DermaCare Replenishing Face Mist, £6 for 100ml, boots.com.
Since facial mists are designed to ‘refresh on the go’, you’d be surprised how many are packaged in heavy, bulky bottles.
However, this is not one of them, as it can easily be thrown in a bag or slipped into a jacket pocket.
Infused with barrier-enhancing ceramides – which help lock in moisture – it instantly revives dry skin without irritation, thanks to its fragrance-free formula.
Middle class
Curel Deep Moisture Spray, £15.60 for 150ml, lookfantastic.com.
If there were a beauty hall of fame, this facial mist would be there.
Loved by celebrities and influencers, it’s hard to scroll through social media without coming across this product. Why do I love it?
This skincare spray essentially produces an ultra-fine, continuous stream of mist, meaning you can hydrate your face and neck without feeling like you’ve been splashed on your face.
Perfect for over and under makeup, the only downside is the slightly sticky residue it leaves behind.
Luxury
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Hydrator Mist, £35 for 75ml, sephora.co.uk.
I had very high expectations for a product that calls itself “magic”, but this product left my face irritated.
However, I have to award points for how quickly it absorbed into my skin, leaving it looking radiant – plus it doubles as a brilliant make-up setting spray.
It’s infused with a hydrating duo of hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, as well as a pollution protection complex, which protects your skin from car fumes, dust and the elements.
Choice of the week
AFTER years of swearing against sweet, sweet scents, I’m starting to realize I’ve been missing something.
I’m often skeptical of brands that go viral on social media, but Phlur deserves every success and the new Vanilla Skin EDP, at £29 for 10ml, is delicious.
It balances notes of cozy vanilla with elegant lily and smells like the sweet scents that escape from bakeries.
