LUSH is known for its luxurious skincare and haircare products and its fantastic bath bombs.
So I was super excited when I took home a VIP goodie bag after trying out one of their new parties in the store.

I was invited to visit the beauty salon’s largest Scottish store on Buchanan Street in Glasgow to experience their luxurious pampering party.
It was super fun and one of the most pampering experiences I have ever had, with 90 minutes of relaxing treatments, soothing massages and a face mask consultation, and at the end we were all given amazing samples to try at home.
In our bag were two jars of Let the Good Times Roll face and body cleanser that we made ourselves, their Bouncy Castle shower gel, samples of two of their best-selling moisturizers (Peace and Celestial), their Ultrabland cleanser, and their Full of Grace face serum.
After trying them all out for two weeks, I found one moisturizer to be a real breakthrough, while another unique product sounded strange to me but smelled delicious.
Peace – Moisturising Cream (£26)
I love a good moisturizer, and Peace is a classic.
It is described as a facial cream specially developed to care for the skin at all stages of life and leaves it feeling super soft.
The key ingredients are rose water, almond oil, oat milk and cocoa butter. These ingredients soften the skin surface and soothe irritated areas.
It is good for skin that quickly loses moisture, because it is literally packed with soothing ingredients.
I thought this would be perfect for me as I generally have drier skin, it felt so soft when I applied it.
But I did feel like I had an extra layer of moisture on my face all day and it took a bit longer for it to really sink into my skin.
It was fine to use at home or when I didn’t have makeup on, but I would be wary of applying makeup over it without giving it enough time to dry.

Let the Good Times Roll – Face and Body Cleanser (£12)
This buttery body scrub was amazing for my skin – and it smelled so good I could almost eat it.
It is made from cornmeal, polenta, corn oil, ground cinnamon and popcorn, which produces a firm but crumbly mixture.
But as soon as you mix it with some water, a soft paste is created with a viscosity that you can determine yourself: the more water you add, the thinner it becomes.
I don’t like to add too much water – I prefer it when it’s a little thicker as I find it works better as an exfoliant. It gently removes all the dead skin cells and dirt from my skin and leaves a healthy glow.
I didn’t use it on my face but it was amazing on my arms, chest and legs. They felt super hydrated and soft.
I have quite dry skin and I was afraid it would get worse, but once I dried my skin felt soft as satin.
I would absolutely buy this in store again and hate getting in the shower without it on the shelf!

Bouncy Castle – shower gel (exclusive for parties)
The Bouncy Castle shower gel is not for sale, as this product is only available to people who book one of the Lush parties in store (which I definitely recommend).
Lush shower gels fascinate me. I found this unique variant strange, because it looks a bit strange. I expected it to fall apart after use, but it is actually quite sturdy.
As soon as I opened the jar of Bouncy Castle, a delicious smell of strawberries came out of the jar. It smelled absolutely delicious.
When I went to take it out, it bounced a little in my hand, but as soon as it hit my wet skin, it started foaming within seconds, leaving a trail of lather that left my skin soft and glowing.
I expected it to lose its shape after one use, but it still looked the same when it bounced around!
All in all it was a super fun and entertaining jelly that would almost eat your skin. While I wouldn’t specifically buy a shower gel, I have to admit they do make showering more fun and smell nicer than most shower gels.

Celestial – Moisturising Cream (£21)
This is a moisturizer that I can buy by the liter. It is incredibly light, soft, works quickly and leaves my skin feeling wonderful for days after application.
My skin has never felt better than after applying Celestial. It’s a simple, soothing blend of vanilla water and organic cocoa butter with over 5 percent almond milk, making it ideal for anyone with sensitive, dry, tight, or inflamed skin.
It is packed with gentle, natural ingredients that help the skin barrier function and make the skin feel wonderful again. For example, it contains 15 percent almond oil, mixed with almond milk and vanilla water, which softens the complexion and supports the skin’s self-care capacity.
As I mentioned before, I have a drier skin in general, so I usually have to apply a moisturizer a few times a day to keep my skin soft.
Just one coat of Celestial and my skin was as soft as satin. I have never found anything else that works so well for my face without giving me breakouts.
And because it absorbs so quickly, you’ll feel the boost immediately – literally the moment it touches your skin, so you don’t have to worry about your face having too much time to dry out.
And because you only need a small amount and much less often than other moisturizers, the product lasts a long time.
Celestial is a game changer for me – and I doubt I’ll be buying any other facial moisturizers in the future! It’s a best seller for a reason.

Ultrabland – cleanser (£11)
If we could describe this cleanser in three words, they would be: simple, gentle and effective.
Ultrabland is a mild oil-based cleanser and is ideal for sensitive skin. But even oily and dry skin can benefit from this care.
The key ingredients are almond oil, rose water, beeswax and honey, all working together to keep your skin soft, clean and supple for life.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t entirely convinced by this cleanser at first. Anything oil based leaves my skin feeling a little greasy.
But it’s actually much gentler when I use it on my face and I found it worked really well for removing makeup.
I always remove it with a Simple wipe first, but then I use it on my face and eyelids. It removes shine, dirt and the toughest makeup without irritation.
Don’t forget to wipe it off with a damp cloth afterwards, otherwise it will become hard from the beeswax and stick to your face!

‘SECRET MESSAGES’
A WOMAN has told how she was stunned when she discovered a ‘secret message’ on her Lush hair conditioner.
Brooke purchased the beloved retailer’s Super Milk spray after hearing about its lasting scent on social media.
But then she made another discovery: the stickers on Lush products, which show which employee made them, contain a message underneath.
Brooke admitted in a TikTok video that she’s probably been “living under a rock.” She said she “never knew that” and wanted to know if it was true.
When she peeled off the sticker on the Super Milk spray, she saw that it said, “Do you have plant-based milk?”
Brooke then went on to find another Lush product to see what was under the sticker on that product.
She found a shower gel from the Shrek series and underneath the sticker it said: “There is an arrow in your butt”.
According to Lush itself, the secret messages are intended for the person who sticks the stickers on the jar or bottle, so that he or she “knows exactly where to put the stickers”.
Full of Grace – face serum (£10)
This facial serum is a kind of mini massage stick and works in the same way: you warm it in your hands and then gently massage the oils into your face.
Packed with hydrating tropical butter, soothing chamomile and antioxidant portobello mushroom extract, Full of Grace serum keeps your skin in fantastic condition all year round.
It is so gentle and provides a wonderful, soothing treatment for your face, helping the skin maintain its elasticity, moisture and glow.
Personally, I found my skin got a little oily after using it and I often felt like I had to wash my hands after applying it.
I love anything sweet or fruity and this serum smells more earthy because of the almond oil and mushrooms so I wasn’t totally crazy about the scent.
That said – I’ve used it on my fiancé’s face before bed and he loves it and finds it super relaxing. So while it’s not really something I would buy, it definitely has a lot of fans.
I like the idea of a serum that resembles a massage soap for the face, so I guess I’ll have to see what other massage soap suits my skin best.
