I turned my kids room into two with a bunk bed. Trolls say it’s a dungeon
A SMART mum who divided her daughters’ bedroom in two has hit back after people called it a ‘dungeon’.
Scarlett explained that her two children, aged six and one, would share a room until their father came up with the idea of splitting the room in two.
However, at first not everyone seemed to be a fan of the idea, so she decided to give them an update on its progress.
“A quick update on my one year old’s bedroom that everyone and their dog hates. Fence on a bunk bed,” she wrote.
She had managed to decorate it because people had been calling it a ‘dungeon’ or Harry Potter’s cupboard because of one small detail.
Because the room was split in two, it meant that her youngest daughter’s side of the room had no window, making it look dark and dingy.
But Scarlett used some clever interior design tricks to add some extra light and make it feel homely again.
She first places lots of Christmas lights on the wall and a cute fluffy lampshade for the ceiling.
The mother painted the room cream, which also allowed more light through.
To make the most of the space, Scarlett used two pieces of Kallax furniture from Ikea to create a large wardrobe in the corner of the room – and placed her daughter’s dollhouse in the center of the wall so it doesn’t took up floor space.
Scarlett previously revealed how the two bedrooms were created by her husband.
She said: “He used the bunk bed that I think we had online and he put up some paneling and managed to fill in the gaps around it, fill in any gaps, sand it, paint it and make it look really good to show – almost as if it were a wall dividing the living room. two girls’ rooms.”
The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @Scarlett.Sylvia with over 116,000 views and 2,000 likes.
One person wrote: “Where is the window.”
Another commented: “Still a closet.”
“It’s stunning! Don’t listen to bad comments,” wrote a third.
