I use a $7 cream religiously, there’s a reason it’s older than your grandparents’
SOMETIMES all it takes is a tried-and-true product to turn back the hands of time, according to one skin care enthusiast.
She swore by an old-fashioned, cost-saving skin care product that she prefers over all the trendy purchases.
Reddit user Gapcareful3157 realized she needed nothing more than one cheap find to smooth her skin.
“I use Ponds faithfully and have tried other moisturizers at different times in my life, but I always come back to Ponds,” she said.
The best part is that you only need a little bit of the product to make a big difference.
“It’s affordable and one jar of cream lasts for months because the cream is so thick that you don’t need to put a lot of it on your face,” she says.
She even found multiple uses for the Ponds Face Cream, which sells for $6.68 on Amazon.
That also means you discover it’s a ‘great’ makeup remover too.
She had no need for expensive brands in her daily routine.
“A lot of what you pay for high-end beauty is really just advertising, fancy packaging and greenwashing. The old stuff works great,” she said.

In addition to Ponds, she was also a fan of other drugstore products, including products from Olay, Dove, Thrayers, Nivea, Vaseline and Jergens.
“And it works just as well and is much cheaper than the expensive $40 you can get for an 85ml tube,” she said.
“And ladies and gentlemen, many of these products are older than your great-grandparents!” she continued.
“There must be a reason they’ve been around for so long, right?”
Other users also shared how they found Ponds to be a worthwhile purchase.
“I’m laughing out loud. My grandma turned 100. At her nursing home, the staff asked me how her skin ‘looked so good, what was her secret?’ I told them Ponds,” one Redditor said.
“She always swore by Ponds Cold Cream. Now that you posted it, I might give this product a try. Thanks for sharing!” they continued.

“I have been a nurse for 15 years and I can assure you that any woman over 90 with beautiful skin, I always ask what products she uses,” said another reader.
“It’s Ponds Cold Cream and Moisturizer every time,” they continued.
