A body hair activist admits she’s never felt sexier after finding the courage to stop shaving.

Artist Esther Calixte-Bea, 27, has a hairy chest and refuses to get rid of it because society demands it.

She never wants to see anyone adhering to beauty ideals that make him or her unhappy.

This social media personality from Montreal, Canada, is better known as Queen Esie and her followers love her down-to-earth attitude towards beauty ideals.

She told us: “Embracing my body hair made me feel sexier and more confident.

“For years I removed my hair in all kinds of painful ways and I hated myself and the fact that I was hairy.

“I had been taught in society that women should shave their body hair, so I didn’t understand why I removed it and it kept coming back.

“The idea of being hairy made me feel ugly because society says so, but once I realized it was a part of me, I felt more beautiful.

My hair is part of my physical features, just like every other aspect of my face. I don’t think I should change that.”

She added: “It’s also important to realise that removing body hair has nothing to do with hygiene.

“It’s just a marketing tool they use to make us insecure about something natural.

“Women can be happier if they stop trying to conform to beauty ideals because as girls we are taught from an early age that beauty is the ultimate goal.

“So many generations of women have been told what is beautiful and what is not.

I threw my razor away 6 years ago and since then I have only grown more body hair. People may stare at it in the summer but I love it.

“You will be happier when you are free from these toxic expectations.

“Women have messaged me saying they have a choice and no longer have to painfully remove their body hair and get stressed out when they see a few hairs.

“Now they don’t feel that fear anymore when their hair grows.

“It gives a feeling of peace and happiness.”
