‘I want the pink back,’ shoppers shout as viral Primark sweater returns
IT’S almost fall and that means we need to look for comfortable knitwear.
The knitted sweater is no longer a stranger in our wardrobe.
And Primark certainly created a buzz with its crew neck design released last year – yes, we’re talking about That pink sweater.
It immediately went viral and sold out in stores across the country.
It is therefore no surprise that the retail giant is bringing back the jersey in brand new colours in 2024.
Primark bosses have named the new collections as “the best knitted sweater for 2024”.
They added: “With an oversized slouch silhouette, this neutral sweater creates an effortless look with a soft and comfortable brushed effect.”
Made from 10% lambswool, it has a perfect slouchy silhouette that will complement any outfit.
The sweater is currently available in three colours – light blue, camel and light grey – and in sizes small, medium and large.
But the budget retailer has announced that a fourth color is on the way.
But don’t expect too much from it, it’s not the baby pink color (at least for now).
Instead, Primark bosses are launching a trendy colour that will be all the rage this autumn: oxblood.
The burgundy shade isn’t available on the website yet, so keep your eyes peeled in store.
And at just £17 you’ll need to be quick if you want to get your hands on one.
Customers are already running to their nearest branch to get their hands on the new colours.
When she saw them in store, fashion expert Kia enthusiastically responded: “Don’t run to Primark, walk to the viral sweaters and back again!!
“I know it’s August, but these will probably sell out in the fall.”
Another shouted: “I bought it in 3 colours. I absolutely love it. Primark new in means autumn and sorry I’m here.”
“I got the baby blue one today! It’s gorgeous,” wrote a third.
A fourth added: “Yes definitely, I got the dark grey and pink last year. I like these new colour combinations.”
A fifth added: “I really need them. I have the pink ones I bought last year, they are such high quality.”
Meanwhile, a sixth insisted: “I NEED EVERY COLOR.”
But other fashion fans are bummed that the viral pink hue hasn’t returned in 2024.
“Still looking for a pink one from last year,” someone sighed.
Another exclaimed, “I want the pink one. WHERE IS IT?”
A third pleaded: “Please, please, please bring back the pink ones!!”
“I pray they get the pink ones back in, I definitely will,” agreed a fourth.
And someone else said, “I want the pink one back.”
This comes after a woman was left stunned earlier this year after seeing a Primark sweater selling for a ridiculously high amount on Vinted.
Lilly insisted she was “in shock” when she saw the £17 jumper being offered for a whopping £50 on the marketplace app.
The sweater went viral on social media and quickly sold out in stores, but she couldn’t accept the price increase.
She said, “Like I have any respect for the busy girl.
“£50 for polyester? TikTok has really turned some of us into crazy people.
“If you have that much money to spend, I say, here you go, I don’t hate you, but I just think, ‘what the hell’, when we all know that sweater probably cost 20p max to make.
“F***ing crazy.”
Why is Primark the place to go for bargains?
HOW does Primark do it? Keep delivering on-trend items at such unbelievable prices? According to bosses, it comes down to four things.
- They “sell a lot of items” – Thanks to them they can save by buying in bulk for their 191 UK stores
- They “do very little advertising”
- Although their clothes represent the “latest trends”, “they do not use expensive hangers, tags or labels”.
- And finally, they try to be “as efficient as possible when transporting products from factories to stores.” This includes things like “asking suppliers to package our t-shirts so they can go straight on the shelves.”
