The frugal DIYer from Basingstoke said she had had her leather sofas for four years and although they still looked in tip-top condition, Teena was ready for something new.

The original two-seater was a beautiful deep brown color. But she wanted to brighten it up a bit and all she needed was some paint.

Sharing the epic transformation on the DIY on a Budget Official group, Teena wrote in the post: ”I would like to share my 2 seater leather sofa in brown to cream leather, dyed with LCD leather paint… I need a 3 seater sofa and an armchair.”

The total cost of the budget-friendly project came to an affordable £70, thanks to the custom paint she ordered through Amazon.

According to the popular online retailer, ”the self-sealing leather paint repairs old scuffs, scratches and everyday signs of wear and tear, as well as sun damage. This makes seats and sofas in your car or home look fantastic again”.

”In addition to repairing stains, the leather dye also prevents new stains from forming.

”This leather repair colour solution is ideal for restoring your items to their faded colour and is also water resistant.”

Plus, not only will you save money by repainting your old sofa instead of buying a new one, it’s also easy to apply.

The online instructions say to apply in light layers, either by hand or with a sprayer, to build up the depth of colour. Also, each 100ml bottle is sufficient for 320cm².

Teena – who said this wasn’t her first project – added: ”I’ve been doing this with furniture for a long time.
