I was disgusted when I realized why my Temu bead necklace smelled so bad
SHE wanted a cute necklace to match a ‘hippie’ dress-up outfit.
So Bella decided to try her luck with a Temu beaded option, which she bought for just 57 cents.

And she was so thrilled when it arrived that she wore it non-stop.
However, when she took off the necklace, she noticed a “strong stench” coming from the accessory.
She then examined the ‘tooth’ part of the necklace in more detail, which was listed on Temu as being made of resin.
“If you don’t know, resin is a type of plastic, a strong adhesive that hardens like plastic.”
Resin should also have no scent, which was the first red flag for Bella.
When she then went back to the website and looked at the listing, she noticed that all the photos of the necklaces showed what looked like another “tooth.”
“They look like they were taken out of different teeth, literally crazy!” she noted.
Bella was “really panicking” at the thought, so she decided to test the tooth by burning it with a lighter.
“So I burn this with a lighter and I think, oh my god, it won’t melt, and then this disgusting smell comes out,” she sighed.
“Like you wouldn’t believe it – I mean, it smells disgusting.
“I double and triple checked it and it stinks and I’m so disgusted by it and I want everyone to see this!
“Because what the hell Temu, what the hell?
“I’m furious and disgusted, and not happy!”
Bella added that she thinks it’s made from a dog’s tooth, but needed further clarification.
So in the next video, she revealed that she took the tooth to her university, where she had a biology expert look at it.
“They looked at it under a microscope, like literally everything.
Why is Temu so cheap?
TEMU exploded onto the scene in late 2022, with people on social media raving about its low prices.
The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace – essentially an online shopping app where people are connected directly to the retailer while the app handles the shipping element.
The frenzy about the app isn’t entirely unfounded either, as it offers a wide variety of products, including fashion, makeup, electronics and furniture.
According to a report of the US House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu is taking advantage of a trade gap that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the US.
The loophole is called the de minimis exception and means they can ship goods worth up to $800 (£643) to the US without being inspected or taxed by US customs.
Temu connects customers directly to manufacturers and only manages how the items are shipped to customers.
It means that Chinese suppliers can essentially sell and ship their products directly to customers without building a network of warehouses around the world.
By doing this, they save huge costs and ensure that the product itself is not additionally marked up.
While many of the products featured in the Temu app come from brands with extensive, original collections, there are many more dupes from designer brands.
“And they confirmed it’s a real tooth.
“They said it was almost too small to be a dog, but definitely way too big to be like a cat or a rabbit, such a small animal, you know.
“But yeah, it’s a real tooth, confirmed by biology teachers and all.”
She added that she is even considering taking the tooth to a vet to see if it can be identified further.
“That’s damn… the fact that it’s a real tooth,” someone commented on the video.
To which Bella replied: “Literally terrible!
“When I found out, I literally almost threw up because it was literally CONFIRMED.
“Now I have no idea where it came from – that’s next.”
