And while most of us are lucky enough to get along well with our neighbors, you still don’t want them peering over the fence while you’re enjoying yourself outside.

And one man, Neil Moules, told us about the bargain hunter he found to create some extra privacy without having to buy a new fence.

His fence was low, the top half of which was made of trellis.

The open The diamond pattern allowed his neighbors to see clearly into his yard.

Instead of replacing the whole thing, he found a B&M store that could patch the holes.

Neil said on social media: “First time using this screen, absolutely perfect for privacy. Before and after.

“Would recommend, bought from B&M.”

The next In the photo I saw his brand new faux pine needle screen over the trellis.

In no time he had more privacy in his garden and more greenery had been added.

In the comments on the post shared with Ideas for a garden renovation on a budget He said that three metres of screen cost £22 at the budget store.

I tried the viral shower curtain trick to get extra privacy in my garden for just £10, yes it stopped the nosy neighbours from peeping but it looked awful

The screen is currently out of stock online, but you can buy a similar screen for just £29.99 from B&Q.

Another garden lover was also looking for a privacy solution.

Dontrell Black also showed off the new fence her husband built himself on a budget on Facebook.

Instead of opting for fence panels, which start at £30 and can cost over £100, the couple use pallets.

How high can a garden fence be?

Despite popular belief, a garden fence can be 100 metres high. For any fence higher than 2 metres, you need a permit.

No building permit is required for fences shorter than 2 metres.

There are some complications, however.

If you are considering installing a fence for your front garden, there are restrictions: fences along a driveway may be a maximum of 1 metre high.

You will need a building permit to put a trellis on a 2m fence.

If a plant you grow on the rack is longer than 2 meters, you do not need to apply for a permit.

Pallets are often used on construction sites and you can find them online for a bargain.

“Our fence – I’m very proud of my husband – is a cheap solution: all the planks are made of pallets,” she added.
