I was in the military, but now I am a proud traditional wife. My husband pays me £78 a week
A YOUNG WOMAN who married a man 23 years older than her has revealed why she loves being a housewife – and even gets benefits from it.
Alyssa, 28, and her husband Tom, 51, met while serving in the US Army, but she quickly decided on a different career path.
Once the couple got engaged, she decided to broach the idea of staying home and taking care of the house.
In return she gets £78 a week for keeping the house in order and she is loving every minute of it.
Speaking to Truly, Alyssa, who just gave birth to their first child, said: “My husband employs me to take care of the home and I encourage other women to pursue the same dynamic for their future financial success.”
“I make more money now when I’m married than when I was in the military and it’s the best job I’ve ever had. There are feminists on Reddit who hate me, most of whom are single and over 30,” she continued.

In the beginning, Tom was never sure about having a traditional relationship, where the woman stays at home while the man is the main breadwinner.
But as time has gone by, he says their new relationship dynamic has made them happier than ever.
Tom revealed: “Until I got into a relationship with Ali, I didn’t even know how great it was to be in a traditional relationship where there were gender divisions.”
Alyssa said they made an agreement that if she was a bad housewife, she would go back to work, but she took that for granted.
Now she spends her days cooking for Tom, cleaning the house and doing laundry.
She also believes that the feminist movement was bad in every way, adding, “Men love women so much that they would have liberated us after they were fully liberated anyway.
‘I’m just from the opinion that feminism was completely unnecessary and that it is a movement for female supremacy.”
She adds that she doesn’t just earn more money now – which is helped by her YouTube channel, she also has her living expenses and health insurance paid by Tom.
Tom revealed that they got rid of Alyssa’s credit cards so she can use his, giving her £78 ($100) a week for fun and snacks.
“I can see all her purchases, she is very disciplined,” he added.
What is a traditional woman?
A traditional wife (short for traditional wife) is a woman who chooses to take on an ultra-traditional role in marriage, meaning she prepares dinner and looks pretty while her husband goes to work.
The trend is inspired by the idea of a housewife from the 1950s.
Many ‘trad women’ choose to dress in the clothing style that is popular during this period (think floral dresses and frumpy cardigans).
Furthermore, the values considered important for traditional women are similar to strict Christian values.
Traditional women believed that they were not forced into this way of life, and that their purpose was to be homemakers.
The trend, which has gained attention on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, glorifies a bygone era when little attention was paid to the economic challenges families and mothers face today.
People who watched the video on YouTube were left stunned by the couple’s dynamic, with many claiming £78 wasn’t enough to get by.
One person wrote: “The only problem with this is that she is solely dependent on him. She has no credit score or income. There is value in being independent as a woman.”
Another commented: “$100 a week? Maids get paid more than that!”
“So it’s basically an allowance,” wrote a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “I’ve wanted this my whole life!!! The only thing I would change is the pay. I would need enough to have fun and invest in other ways in case it doesn’t last Until death do us part, I love working for my family and hate working for and with strangers.”
“TRAD WIFE is so toxic. Feminism was created for a reason, they had no choices, options or freedom. This is strange,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “She needs to ask for a raise at some point.”
