I was pregnant and found out my boyfriend was cheating – but it got worse

LAI Isaroon, 27, met her partner Jeron George, 24, through mutual friends and after two years together they welcomed their twins – now two.

But in 2023, their relationship became “difficult” and Lai said Jeron, a professional chef, became “distant” despite finding out they were pregnant again in May.

When Jeron returned from a trip to Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands, Lai saw text messages and FaceTime conversations with other women on his phone and confronted him.

Jeron refused to take responsibility, she says, but the couple tried to be civil toward their children. Meanwhile, Lai tried to figure out what to do.

But after Lai found a second phone of Jeron’s with even more messages, the two got into an argument and he left the next day, she says.

Lai had expected him to come back to take the children to the park, but when he didn’t return, she assumed he was gone for good.

But she discovered that Jeron had been shot and died of his injuries on May 23, 2023.

Atlanta Police Jaron Jaheim Peters was arrested and he was arrested and charged with the murder of Jeron George.

Lai welcomed her daughter, now seven months old, on January 17, 2024.

The Atlanta, Georgia, seller said, “Even though the relationship was toxic, it’s still a mixed bag.

“If he were still alive, it would be very bad for both of us. My children – they were just little babies.

Lai knew she wanted a better life for her children when she found out she was pregnant, so she decided to work on herself for their sake.

Lai and Jeron had been together for four years when their relationship ended in early 2023.

Lai said: “The relationship was a bit rocky. It was very toxic.

“He was very distant. He stayed away for a long time periods of time.”

Jeron took a business trip back to his hometown of Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands in May 2023.

Then she noticed that he was ‘acting very strangely’ and not ‘communicating very well’.

“I was dropping out. He blocked me from traveling — it was very childish,” she said.

Jeron then stayed on the trip for two weeks, longer than he had intended.

Lai said, “I already thought something was wrong.

“We tried to be cool, but I felt like something was wrong.

“We just found out I was four weeks pregnant.”

Suspicious Lai decided to search Jeron’s phone and was shocked to find him “FaceTiming and texting girls.” She admitted she couldn’t handle it.

When Lai confronted Jeron about it, things changed.

“He called me stupid. He took no responsibility and offered no apologies.

“We never spoke about it again after that,” she said.

Lai said Jeron tried to act normal – buying her a card on Mother’s Day and acting loving – but she tried to find a way to end the relationship.

She said: “I tried to break up with him two weeks before he passed away.

“We were on the verge of breaking up, but we were still living together.

“When we broke up, I had no income anymore.”

Despite Lai trying to live with him normally, she still didn’t speak to him and as far as she was concerned the relationship was over.

But a few days later, Jeron asked Lai to get something from the car and she found his hidden second phone and locked herself in the car to go through it.

“He came running outside and tried to get me to open the door.

“I tried to break up with him two weeks before he passed away.”

“I came back in and we got into an argument,” she explains.

The next day, Jeron left the house, but he promised to come back to pick up the twins.

Lai said: “I expected him to come back.

“He never came back, but I wasn’t too worried. I thought he probably wouldn’t come back.”

But the next day, Lai was told that Jeron had died of a gunshot wound on May 23, 2024, when he was found in the middle of the street.

Atlanta police have launched a murder investigation into his death, which is ongoing.

Despite Jeron’s infidelity, Lai still struggled to news.

She said, “It was incredibly difficult.

“I couldn’t really grieve.

“I didn’t want my baby to get hurt or angry.”

After an inspection following Jeron’s death, his inedibility was confirmed.

Lai said, “They did an STD test on me and I had two STDs.

“He absolutely cheated on me.

“That was the proof.

“It was horrible. I was filled with so much anger.”

But Lai put all her energy during her pregnancy and her newborn daughter, whom she welcomed in January.

She said: “I had to change my thoughts. It helped me to become stronger. She is a very happy baby.

“I was so worried she said that, but she smiled.”

Lai is now undergoing therapy to process her trauma.

She said: “I’m much happier, ultimately it was probably a game for him.

“He was very charming and very sweet, he had all those great qualities.”

Lai hasn’t given up hope in love and still hopes to meet someone new, but right now her focus is on her children.

“I believe that my children will grow up strong and that we will live the life we ​​envisioned, even if it is a little different.

“I think things are going to be great from here on out,” she said.

Atlanta police confirmed the shooting and arrest, but did not provide further information about the incident.
