What happened to Cath Kidston stores?

POPULAR chain Cath Kidston, which once had hundreds of stores around the world, closed its last store last year.

The brand was bought by Next after it went bankrupt, but the physical stores were not sold.

The company subsequently purchased the brand name, domain names and intellectual property for £8.5 million.

Known for its beautiful floral motifs and quirky vintage home accessories, Cath Kidston has been a household name on the British high street since 1993.

In April 2020, the company went into administration for the first time, closing 60 stores in the UK and losing 908 jobs.

But the company still traded online and in standalone stores, but these have now closed.

Customers can buy Cath Kidston products at Next, ranging from clothing to homewares.
