I was tired of people peeping into my yard, so I made a simple privacy fence myself
A WOMAN who was fed up with her neighbours peering into her garden has told how she built a simple fence to keep them out.
Although we have a friendly relationship with our neighbors is great, often we want to prevent them from looking into our gardens so we can live privately.
Sam Raimondi built her wood fence over a year ago and says it still looks as good as the day she put it up.
She said she had “bribed” her father to help her screw metal posts into her patio.
The DIY duo made sure the posts were level by using wedges.
Next She used a circular saw to cut some treated boards into pieces and slid them into the slots in the metal posts.
She spaced the planks apart using metal spacers that came with the posts.
To make the fence weatherproof, Sam sprayed it with stain after installation.
She then filled in all the holes in the fence and placed caps on the metal posts to complete the fence.
“It looks really cool and was very easy to install,” she said in a video posted to her YouTube channel @diyhuntress.
“Now that it’s been on my patio for a year, it still looks the same as the day I installed it,” she said of the privacy fence.
Sam is so impressed with her DIY work that she plans to get married on her garden patio.
Her video has likely impressed many DIY fans, as it has already been viewed more than a million times on the video platform.
YouTube users rushed to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.
Someone said: “You did a great job, it looks fantastic!
“What I liked most was that you and your father worked together.”
A second person said, “Nice, high fences make good neighbors, lol.”
A third person said, “I need this, but it needs to be 15 feet high, haha.”
“My neighbors moved in with us two years ago and since then they have been bothering the entire neighborhood.”
A fourth person added: “Wow, that looks amazing. You should be proud of yourself.”
