- The superhero film releases directed by James Gunn on July 11
- The newest teaser contains some crucial details about the plot and the strange Easter egg
James Gunn’s Superman film Is officially less than a month removed (at least at the time of publication). And while the countdown to the release of July 11 is collecting PACE, DC Studios has debuted a final trailer for the comic book film guided by David Corswet.

The trailer, which also confirms that tickets are now for sale for one of the most expected 2025 New filmsnot only contains images that we have seen in the DC universe (DCU) Films other teasers.
Indeed, there are many new clips that point to the direction of the plot and the odd contain DC Strips Easter egg. So here are four crucial details and/or references to the previous Superman Projects that you may have missed at the first viewing. Potentially large spoilers followSo continue at your own risk.
1. A glimpse of Mister Handsome
If your first reaction to this person is “… who?”, You are not the only one. Mr. Handsome is not a established DC stripping character-in fact, he seems to be a brand new creation for this DCU Chapter one film.
Okay, so who is he? We don’t really know, but that didn’t stop that fans with eagle eyes think they’ve seen him SupermanThe newest trailer.
Look behind the Lex Luthor of Nicholas Hoult in the image above and you will see what a person with pale skin seems to be on a form of stage. Viewers think that this human -looking being is the aforementioned gentleman clever.
There are further evidence that this is the case. In Superman’s featurette behind the scenes, we still catch a glimpse of a being that is not just like the character SupermanThe last trailer, but also has a visibly different position and appearance for most people.
In addition, peaking as part of a recent Fandango Interview, Hoult and Gunn revealed that the son of Hoult, who occasionally Superman Set, had a preference for Mister Handsome. Gunn is in operation about who this character is, teasing: “Mr. Handsome is the essence of Lex that he has made in a petri dish that drives around on this flying platform that is the ugliest being in the world.”
This does not confirm that the person we see briefly briefly is Mr. Handsome, but the description of Gunn comes up with the few we have seen of them. Throw in the incredibly ironic name for someone who is not attractive to look at and this has To be Mr.
2. Ultraman unmasked
There has been a lot of speculation about the actual identity of Ultraman. I have extensively treated the greatest fantum theory about this secondary villain, so I will not do this again here. If you want more details about the aforementioned hypothesis, read my pieces on Ultraman’s supposed tires with a different villain called Boravia’s hammer, my breakdown of Superman second trailerand the biggest Ultraman fan Theory who is apparently confirmed by a few Funko Pop figures.
SupermanThe third trailer does not gain much in the way of new Ultraman images, but there are a few missable photos of this mysterious person without his mask. The first Ultraman shows the steel man with his own heat viewing. Later we see Supes beating a Demasked Ultraman with a large metal object.
Neither of the clip is slow or long enough to give us a good look at the face of Ultraman. Nevertheless, we know that at some point he loses his face covering, which suggests that we will discover who he really is. My money still states that he is a Superman clone.
3. ‘Big Blue’ from Green Lantern Call Back
At the 1:20 of the trailer we see the Guy Gardner/Green Lantern from Nathan Fillion to Kal-El. It is clear that something has happened between the couple and it seems that Gardner is trying to attack him. You don’t mock someone by saying “Make a movement, big blue” if you don’t try to prevent them.
“Big Blue” may sound like a shape of Gardner’s side spot, but it is actually a phone call back to one of Superman’s oldest nicknames. It is indeed a reference to ‘The Big Blue Boy Scout’ name that Krypton’s son also passed in the 1950s. It is also an alias who has been shortened to ‘Big Blue’ in countless other comic books.
This then seems to be one of the many homages that are paid to the literary roots of tomorrow’s man in his latest adventure on a big screen.
4. Who is Baby Joey in Superman?
The last big unveiling SupermanThe newest trailer is a character called Joey. He is the alien baby, we see Clark Kent’s super powerful alter-ego holding/saving while a form of cosmic explosion bursts around them.
We know that Joey’s father is too. Superman‘S Funko Pop Figurine collection has already ruined that surprise, with Joey being the offspring of the Metamorpho of Anthony Carrigan. For the Non -Intagen: In essence, he is a Metahuman that can make any type of element out of the air.
The prevailing fan theory – a reinforced by images shown in SupermanThe second trailer – is Luthor is operating Metamorfo to keep Joey safe. And, given the unique forces of Metamorpho, he is tailor -made from Kryptonite, also known as the only substance in the well -known galaxy that can harm/weaken someone as Superman. It seems that Metamorpho will be forced to make some kryptonite that can use Luthor against Supes, so Luthor does not harm Joey.
