I Work at Dollar Tree – 2 Signs to Look for When Getting Brand Name Makeup
DOLLAR Tree, known for its $1.25 price tag, sells a number of brand name cosmetics.
An employee of the discount store tells you how to score the discounted makeup.
Reddit user Fentoozlers posted the advice on the social media platform.
She said there are special indicators that can show that a branded item is in stock.
The employee also added some of her own cosmetic purchases, including beauty products.
She indicated which specific label to look for on the packaging to find a good imitation for a more expensive product.
HOW TO SAVE
The Dollar Tree employee said that brand name items sometimes come in plain packaging in stock.
She said there are still ways to identify these products.
“Try finding iridescent pink bags for brand name nail polish and lipstick, and then a white cardboard box,” she said.
She mentioned that her store recently sold foundations from Revlon and Maybelline.

The Redditor added a few of her own favorites from Dollar Tree.
“I get a lot of nail polish there, general stuff like tweezers and nail polish brushes, and I also like to get lipsticks there,” she said.
“The LA Colors brand is really fun and they usually have themed collections. Right now we have a cute boba tea collection.
“Mine also has lots of cute headbands and hair clips. We also have things like vanity storage.”
FINDING THE DUPES
The Dollar Tree employee shared her specific method for quickly identifying scammers.
She said the discovery came because the discount store received a lot of products that could replace more expensive products.
“I’ve seen face lotions that said on the packaging, ‘similar to Cerave moisturizer,’” she added.
“I didn’t compare ingredients or anything, I just see things casually.
“But it’s also worth looking out for dupes if you want to compare ingredients.”
Dollar Tree is known for its $1.25 price tags on most items.
With drugstore makeup becoming increasingly expensive, beauty fanatics are looking for cheaper alternatives.
According to Dollar Tree’s website, deep discounts are possible because items are ordered in bulk and the savings are passed on to the customer.
