WE all love a cheeky hack to save a few bucks, and this one is sure to fill your stomach too – so what’s not to love?

While there are plenty of tips and tricks for getting the most out of the classic JD Wetherspoon menu, this one is perfect if you want a little more craving for your nachos.

As Macey Newberry, who works at the famous bargain shop, shares on social media, this ordering trick can save you a few bucks.

In the viral video, Macey said that while the Wetherspoons menu has just about everything you could ever want to eat, it is lacking in Mexican dishes.

But fear not, you can season your nachos to make them a little more interesting, and that costs money too next to nothing.

“This is a life hack if you want to get loaded nachos,” the worker explained.

When you order your food you have to go to the bar to customize them.

“If you’re in the tough spot of choosing between a five-bean chili meal or a bowl of nachos, you can have both,” she said.

Simply ask the employee who takes your order to add a five-bean chili.

However, you should make it clear that you don’t want the five-bean chili as a meal, but rather from the deli section of the menu, where the baked potato add-on options are.

“If you’d had both meals it would have been £15, but I’ve just saved £8, you’re welcome,” said Macey.

Fellow foodies loved the simple trick and couldn’t wait to try it out.

One commented on the clip: “I will definitely order this next time.”

But someone else pointed out that some Wetherspoons pubs still have a Mexican option on the menu: “There’s a burrito salad bowl and you can also have chilli or chicken on the side.”

The nacho hack isn’t the only way to save a few cents on your next trip to Wetherspoons, either.

Last month punters’ mouths were watering when a foodie shared a trick to get half-price breakfast at a Spoons.

A YouTuber called CharlieVlogs explained how to get a container for cheap.

The YouTuber took viewers to the Wetherspoons in Victoria Station because of the higher price.

‘Usually in central London they raise their prices for breakfast.

“It costs about £6 to £8, but I’ll show you how to get a Wetherspoons breakfast for about £3.50,” he said.

“It’s easy, buddy, it’s so easy. So what you can actually do is get these breakfast extras on their own, like you don’t have to get them separately,” he said.

He then ordered two rashers of bacon, a portion of beans and a fried egg for a total of £3.43.

A full English breakfast at the station normally costs £8.38 for two fried eggs, bacon, two Lincolnshire sausages, baked beans,
three hash browns, mushrooms, two slices of toast.

Although the hack saves you almost £5, it also means less food on your plate, something CharlieVlogs acknowledged in its video.

He said: “It’s not the biggest deal to be honest, but it’s cheap and cheerful.

“Another reason I brought you to Victoria Station is to show you that you can get cheap deals even in the most touristy and expensive central hub locations.”

How can I save money at Wetherspoons?

FREE refills – Buy €1.50 of tea, coffee or hot chocolate and get free refills. The deal is available all day, every day.

Check a map – Prices may vary by location, even if they are close together.

So if you’re planning on having a pint at a Spoons, it’s worth checking out nearby pubs to see if you can get the cheapest deal.

Choose your day – Every evening the pub chain organizes certain theme evenings with food.

For example, every Thursday evening there is a curry club, where diners can get a main meal and a drink for a fixed price cheaper than normal.

Collection slips – Students can often purchase voucher books from their local universities, which offer discounts on food and drink, so keep your eyes peeled.

Request an app – The Wetherspoons app allows you to order and pay for your drink and food from your table, but you don’t have to be in the pub to use it.

Taking full advantage of this, cheeky customers have taken to social media to ask their friends and family to order drinks for them. The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play.

Check the date – Every year Spoons holds its Tax Equality Day to highlight the benefits of a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub industry.

It usually takes place in September and last year it fell on Thursday, September 14.
