I worked at Tesco for years – the easy way you can make £750 in no time
A FORMER Tesco employee has named six secrets the popular supermarket doesn’t want the public to know – including the simple way you can make more than £700 in no time.
The ex-employee, known only as Freddie, took to TikTok to drop some knowledge bombs — and they might come in handy the next time you’re running errands.
So if you’re planning on visiting your local Tesco soon, read on as these tips could significantly reduce your bill at the checkout.
The exact time to buy cheap goodies
According to the former staff member, who goes by the username @Freddielifts It is best to enter the store on the platform in the evening between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
”This is the moment when yellow discount stickers are ready. If you have a Clubcard, you get even more discounts on discounted items,” the fitness enthusiast told his followers the video.
The sports enthusiast also added that if you see an employee with the yellow sticker gun, it’s worth asking him or her for a sticker on your item too – as this works ‘nine times out of ten’, as long as you ask nicely. ”.
Baked goods – not so ”fresh”
What better way to start your day than with a slice of toast and some jam?
Well, according to the 27-year-old, customers should know that “everything in the store is fresh.”
”It’s all frozen and baked from the store if they need more of that stock.”
The fitness superfan revealed the secrets, explaining that ”it’s all about the wording that gets people noticed”.
Leftover Christmas stuff
With the holidays less than 100 days away, many of us have already started the manic Christmas shopping, whether for gifts or baubles.
If you’re planning to buy all the essentials at Tesco, the ex-employee warned that ”many of the early Christmas products are from the last Christmas stock or from the start of the year”.
This, he explained, is reportedly ”the result of getting huge discounts on bulk purchases”.
Earn €750 in no time
Millions of cash-strapped households are looking for easy ways to bring in some extra cash – and according to Freddie, the mega-supermarket is coming to the rescue with a secret shopper program.
He explained: ”You can become a product reviewer for Tesco by going to Shop.rate750.com and get a voucher worth up to £750.”
He claimed: ”It is being advertised in the bigger Tesco stores across the country. However, it is available to everyone and is already helping so many people.”
When should you buy bargains with yellow stickers?
Aldi: Look for red stickers around closing time, which offer up to 75% off perishable items and 30% off damaged packaging items.
Asda: Discounts take place twice a day, morning and evening. Early birds can find fresh produce for as little as 10 cents.
Lidl: Price reductions take place early in the morning and before closing time. Use the Lidl Plus app for extra weekly promotions.
Marks and Spencer: Discounts often take place around closing time. Monthly in-store offers and combo deals, such as the £12 Dine In for Two, provide additional savings.
Morrisons: Discounts with yellow stickers appear throughout the day. Register for a More Card to get specific daily discounts, such as 20% off fish on Fridays.
Sainsbury’s: No fixed discount times; look for yellow ‘reduced’ stickers. Register for Nectar Prices for almost 50% off weekly deals.
Tesco: No fixed discount times. Check the ‘markdown section’ in 300 stores for discounted items such as salads, bread and meat.
Expired food
Who doesn’t love a cheeky meal deal, especially when you’re on the go or haven’t had time to whip up a delicious dinner the night before?
Tesco is known for its huge variety of meal deals that won’t break the bank, but Freddie urged customers to check expiry dates carefully.
The former employee, who worked at the store for many years, claimed: “We have found meal deals that are well past their expiry date and fresh in the refrigerator.
”So always check the data; This happens a lot more often than you think.”
Plant in low quality soil
Whether you want to add some greenery to your home or plant plants that can help combat mold this winter, Tesco has plenty of options.
But Freddie warned against leaving the plants as the store reportedly uses ”the lowest quality soil”.
“They just want you to come back and spend more on new plants.”
