‘If arrogance and lack of grace had a face’: BJP questions Rahul Gandhi’s absence after polls | India News – Times of India
Malviya accused Rahul Gandhi of showing ‘arrogance’ and ‘lack of grace’ in the aftermath of the Congress party’s defeat in Haryana. He also pointed out that the Congress leader had failed to congratulate the National Conference leadership for their achievements in Kashmir.
“If arrogance and lack of grace had a face, it would be that of Rahul Gandhi. Hours after the defeat in Haryana, Supreme Leader of the Congress Party Rahul Gandhi has not found time to thank the voters or the workers. I have not had the courtesy to congratulate the NC leadership on their achievements in Kashmir,” Amit Malviya said in a post on X.
“But what more can you expect from a man who has not even congratulated the longest-serving non-Congress Prime Minister, who has won an unprecedented third term. This sense of entitlement of the Gandhis is sickening,” he added.
Malviya earlier criticized Rahul’s previous comments on reservations and suggested that they had backfired. “Rahul Gandhi’s ‘we will remove reservations’ has gained momentum in Haryana. Dalits have rejected Congress’s lies. The BJP leads with 9/17 SC seats. In 2019, the BJP had won only five of the 17 seats. Dalits in Jharkhand and Maharashtra will decimate Congress.”
Malviya’s comments against the Leader of the Opposition come as the BJP recorded its best ever result in Haryana with 48 seats, one more than in 2014. The Congress trailed with 37 seats, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won two seats. and three Independents emerged victorious.
The BJP had contested 89 of the 90 seats in Haryana, barring the Sirsa seat, where its ally Gopal Kanda had been the sitting MLA. However, Kanda lost his seat in these elections.
Haryana Chief Minister Saini expressed his gratitude to the voters for the BJP’s victory and stated that the public had endorsed the policies of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government.
