I’m 40 and look younger than I did when I was 25 – my exfoliation trick makes my skin glow
A SKINCARE fan shared a technique that makes her skin glow.
She added that the skin care trick went a long way in helping her stay looking youthful.
Reddit user Frost yarn shared the anti-aging tip in a post.
She said she carefully shaves her face using a technique called dermaplaning.
“I oil my skin once a week. There are great YouTube tutorials out there,” she said.
This trick, she explained, helps exfoliate her skin and makes her skin care routine more effective.
“With the top layer of skin and hair gone, my serums and moisturizers can absorb better and my skin looks radiant, like a pearl,” she said.
In addition, the technique functioned as a skin care treatment and as a makeup enhancer.
“Just turned 40! I look like I’m 30. I swear pictures of me at 25-30 years old when I was using 99 cent shampoo on my face (chuckle) and cheap lotion on my face make me look older than I do now. Dermaplaning makes me look like I just had a facial,” she said.
“The cheapest foundation looks expensive once the moisture barrier is restored and dead skin cells are removed.”

Her favorite oil for dermaplaning is the Darphane Essential Oil Elixir.
She added that most of the oils worked.
“I usually get oil samples with beauty product purchases,” she said.
For those new to this method, she recommends shaving in front of a mirror the first time.
She explained that it’s helpful to know where you’re shaving so you can avoid accidents.
“I tried it once [in the shower] and almost ripped off an eyebrow,” she said.
“In addition, the heat, humidity and steam make it difficult to keep the skin taut while shaving carefully.
“And you also want to look in the mirror.”
In addition to her usual dermaplaning routine, her favorite skincare products and makeup keep her grounded.
She added that her tried-and-true favorites were Bobbi Brown’s vitamin-enriched face foundation and Nars’ Light Reflecting Foundation.
One trick, she revealed, is mixing the foundation with Natasha Denona’s Skinglass serum.
“I look like a walking catfish filter,” she joked.
