I’m 48 and have no wrinkles – I started using a $14 skin care product when I was 16
A 48-year-old woman who is winning the battle against aging opens up about her skincare routine over the years.
She said that after decades of using anti-aging products, her face was completely wrinkle-free, but she admitted that she made a big mistake.
Reddit user Cheese cheese in a post on the platform, she talked about her regime and how it has evolved over the years.
She called her contribution ‘advice from a 48-year-old woman’.
“[I’m] “I’m very happy to see that people are taking better care of their skin these days,” she said.
She explained that she wanted to share her personal experience with anti-aging to help others.
HOW TO BE WRINKLE FREE
Cheeziemccheeze said her fascination with beauty started at a young age.
“My first job at age 16 was in a cosmetics department,” she recalls.
“They were really pushing Oil of Olay, which at the time was pink stuff. I worked in sales of the stuff, so I used it too.
The formula is no longer pink, but the Olay Active Hydrating Skin Cream is still available for just under €16.
“When I was in my 20s, L’Oréal came out with a product called ‘Line Eraser,’ and I used that too,” she continued.
The L’Oreal Plenitude Line Eraser Pure Retinol Intensive Action has been discontinued for years, but the brand does offer a new version.
The L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives Retinol Night Serum costs $36.99 and is available at most drugstores.
The original poster stated that she used Merle Norman products between the ages of 30 and 45 because she could afford it.
But when she developed ‘rosacea’, everything changed.
“I can’t use heavy products anymore, so I use Vaseline (back to my grandmother’s basic products) and Eucerin,” she said.
She also cleanses her face with baby shampoo.
The Reddit user wasn’t sure what caused her skin condition, but the products she used did help her prevent wrinkles.
“What I learned from it is that I’m not sure if using anti-aging products a lot contributed to the rosacea, but I no longer have lines on my face,” she said.
“Yes, the cheeks are straight, but there are no wrinkles in them.”
However, she ended her post with a warning.
“Here’s the big one, I never [in] “All these years I’ve been using the product on my throat and now it’s starting to manifest itself on my neck,” she said.
“So don’t forget to take care of your throat in your beauty routine too.”
The post drew many Redditors who shared their thoughts on her age-defying secrets.
“I always apply for [my] “Also in the neck and chest,” someone said.
“If I start doing this at 30 I think I’ll be ahead of the curve. Now if only I had done it all earlier in my life lol.”
“And your hands,” another advised. “I’m in my late 30s and have wrinkled hands.”
