A 55-year-old fashionista has dismissed the suggestion that people should dress their age, despite what malicious internet trolls say.

Stylish mom Sue Giers from Hamburg, Germany, shares her passion for fashion and recently admitted that being “basic” isn’t in her “DNA.”

The 55-year-old blonde beauty said it's more than just fashion for her

While some expect women to become invisible after a certain age, it is clear that Sue, who also runs a business, refuses to do so.

The 55-year-old blonde beauty is no stranger to the latest trends, showing off her muscular legs in short shorts or wearing a tight-fitting romper.

Despite what haters say, the entrepreneur also continues to share fashion-related content and fit checks her Instagramwhere she has no fewer than 62,000 followers.

One such more recent clip saw the pretty lady show off some of her favorite pieces, including a stunning maxi dress that accentuated her figure and a black midi dress that she paired with sky-high stilettos.

For Sue, however, it’s about more than just clothes, it’s also a reflection of how far she’s come.

The mother wrote in the caption: “These pieces are not just fabric: they are an ode to the journey that brought me here.

I hope to inspire others to redefine aging and beauty and show that true style knows no age.

”From moments of uncertainty to moments of pure confidence, my style reflects the courage to embrace every stage of life with grace and authenticity.

”I hope to inspire others to redefine aging and beauty, and show that true style knows no age.

“Let’s continue to encourage each other to express ourselves and live life to the fullest!” Sue reminded us in the encouraging post.

Despite the positive message, not everyone agreed with the German beauty, as trolls showed up en masse to brutally shame her.

Someone said: “Respecting your age and respecting your body are two different things. You don’t fit into either category.”

Someone else agreed, adding that in their eyes Sue was just thirsty for attention.

“Just pick me from the nursing home.”

It wasn’t just Sue’s ‘I don’t care’ attitude that some bullies had a problem with – a few also came for the shorts.

One critic compared them to underwear, writing: “Don’t the first shorts look a bit like boxer shorts?”

Styling tips for women over 50

Our fabulous fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend shares her top tips…

GET A BRA FIT:Underwear is the foundation of any outfit, so make sure your bra fits properly.
If you start well, you’ll end up with a great outfit.

EMBRACE COLOR: Bright colors enhance the complexion of your skin and give you a radiant complexion.

INVEST IN GOOD BASIC KNOWLEDGE: You need your essentials like a good pair of straight leg jeans, white shirt, white t-shirt, black blazer and well made black shoes. You can’t go wrong by rotating them if you don’t know what to wear.

AVOID FORMLESSNESS: Hiding your figure under shapeless silhouettes is a way to date and make you look sloppy. Try fitted clothes that aren’t tight-fitting – you need to be able to breathe.

EXPERIMENT: Try different items that you wouldn’t normally buy and mix them with what you already have. The results could mean that you’re better dressed and more confident.

But while there were some harsh comments here and there, the clip seemed to mostly hit the positive side of Instagram and received a lot of sympathy.

One viewer responded to the trolls, writing: ‘I don’t get the ‘too old to wear that’ stigma.

“As if there is an age limit or requirement for nice clothes??? People attach way too much importance to it.”

Another shared the same sentiment, adding: “The comments scream jealousy, you are one of the most beautiful women I have seen today.

“It’s not easy to stay fit at 55. Keep going, I really appreciate it.”
