I’m a busty size 16 and I found the perfect autumn buys at Asda
A MODE fan proudly shows off her new autumn/winter purchases from Asda.
So if you want to treat yourself to some new clothes, but are on a budget and don’t want to spend too much money, then this is definitely a place to check out.
Rebecca Sudwarts, a fashion-forward 5ft 8in, size 16 woman, was lucky enough to get her hands on a range of must-have autumn/winter buys, including a stunning pair boots and a super stylish coat.
Plus, she bought a dress that’s super flattering and sweatshirts that are perfect for the change of seasons.
The curvy fashionista from the UK took to social media to share her honest thoughts about her new Asda purchases, leaving many impressed.
The former Senior Fashion Buyer posted her clip online with the caption: ‘I have found the BEST autumn/winter faux leather jacket and it’s in this reel! I am loving all of these looks from George at Asda.’

Kicking off her haul, the content creator confessed: “This is the biggest George at Asda haul I’ve ever done.”
We then saw Rebecca wearing a £16 sweatshirt with a new pair of jeans, which cost her £17, as she explained: “They are really, really nice. Nice Mom fit, they contain stretch and are therefore super comfortable to wear all day long.
“How beautiful is this sweater? It’s great to wear over leggings or to wear to school. I absolutely love the color.”
She completed the outfit with a black pair Chelsea boots, which she described as “so comfortable” and cost her just £23.
Rebecca also bought a £42 biker jacket and continued: “I think it’s great value for money.
“There’s enough room to wear a sweater underneath for the winter, but it’s super warm.”
She styled the jacket with a pair of wide-leg jeans, which cost £22, as she explained: “They’re such a lovely, lightweight quality. They look really great with the chunky boots.”
She also bought a printed sweatshirt for £16, claiming: “It looks great with the baggy jeans but would also look lovely with leggings and trainers.”
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?
DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale says:
Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you pop in to do your weekly shop, you can also pick up a selection of wallet-friendly, stylish items for the whole family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 percent rise in the quarter thanks to ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earned the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s George clothing line earned the supermarket £1.5m in 2023, 80 per cent of clothes at Sainsbury’s were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons have also risen by 2 per cent over the past year.
How is it that supermarket fashion is so successful?
The clothing is not only affordable, but also of good quality, and much of the clothing is also part of programs such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last for years.
And because they buy so much stock, they can deliver quickly and the volumes are cheaper.
Next up, Rebecca rocked a leopard print skirt with a black top, both £14 each, as she beamed: “How cute is this little basic? It’s longer so you can tuck it in and out, it’s a great basic to have in your wardrobe.”
And to finish off the collection, Rebecca showed off two of her new dresses. She was very impressed with both dresses.
The blonde beauty wore a £22 long-sleeved dress and said: “I love this dress, it’s so flattering.
Reasons to buy supermarket fashion
When you’re looking for new pieces to add to your seasonal wardrobe, or want to update your basics, you don’t have to spend hours scouring the shops or scrolling online. Just pick up a dress or two alongside your fruit and veg…
They are handy – Chances are that you go to the supermarket more often than to a shopping mall or high street.
It is affordable – Supermarkets are leaders in budget fashion that doesn’t look cheap, from basic items to more fashionable pieces.
They are more fashionable than you might think – Because their customer base is larger than that of the average high street store, stores like ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are better able to respond to the market and predict trends in many more areas than just food supply.
They fit well – Fits and lengths often come with a bit more modesty in mind. Fabrics are often very practical too: think lots of 100% cotton that can be thrown in the washing machine without a second thought.
“I really love the purple marble print. It reminds me of something you see in AllSaints.”
She then tried on her new denim dress, which cost her £26, and concluded: “This dress is beautiful, it looks super premium. It has a bit of stretch so it’s really comfortable.”
FASHION FANS ARE PRAISING
Instagram users were left open-mouthed at the clip, which was posted under the username @stylingmetrebecca and has quickly been viewed 542,000 times.
Fashion fans took to the comments en masse to praise Rebecca’s acquisition and the ‘amazing’ new clothes.
