Rebecca Sudwarts, who is 5ft 8in and wears a size 16-18, took to social media to pose with her new Tesco purchases, leaving many people shocked.

The curvy fashionista from the UK managed to get her hands on a collection of stunning co-ord sets, as well as a leopard print dress that’s perfect for all sorts of occasions.

The former Senior Fashion Buyer wrote online: “I bought something at Tesco F&F again.”

Rebecca started her collection with a matching white co-ord set: a gorgeous £18 top with a matching £29.50 skirt.

She was thrilled with the outfit, explaining: “I’m starting with the embroidery co-ord set. Everything is super generous, I could definitely have gone down a size.

“It really is such a special fabric that justifies the higher price for F&F.

“I also think these pieces would look like this Nice also individually.”

For outfit number two, Rebecca wore a stunning co-ord set: a £19.50 top and £19.50 trousers.

The fashionista beamed: “I’m so happy I was able to get my hands on this set.

“I think this looks so premium, you can style it in so many different ways, such a beautiful quality, super soft and also super generous so you definitely don’t need to size up.”

She was wearing a pink co-ord, which is incredibly roomy and perfect for days when you feel bloated.

Rebecca tucked the £18 top into the matching £22.50 shorts, adding: “Another lovely co-ord set. The top is not lined but the shorts are.

“They are generous. The shirt has elastic at the bottom, so you can roll it up and create a bit of a puff sleeve.”

Although Rebecca wasn’t entirely convinced of the next outfit, she praised its designer feel.

Reasons to buy supermarket fashion

When you’re looking for new pieces to add to your seasonal wardrobe, or want to update your basics, you don’t have to spend hours scouring the clothes shops or scrolling online. Just buy a dress or two alongside your fruit and veg…

They are handy – Chances are that you go to the supermarket more often than to a shopping mall or high street.

It is affordable – Supermarkets are leaders in budget fashion that doesn’t look cheap, from basic items to more fashionable pieces.

They are more fashionable than you might think – Because their customer base is larger than that of the average high street store, stores like ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are better able to respond to the market and predict trends in many more areas than just food supply.

They fit well – Fits and lengths often come with a bit more modesty in mind. Fabrics are often very practical too: think lots of 100% cotton that can be thrown in the washing machine without a second thought.

Wearing a £18 leopard print top with matching £19.50 trousers, she explained: “I’m still on the fence to be honest, personally I wouldn’t wear them together.”

Despite this, she admitted, “I love how it feels to be a designer.”

The leopard print theme continued as Rebecca showed off her new £25 animal print dress.

The F&F fan shared: “I loved this leopard print satin dress.

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale says:

Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you pop in to do your weekly shop, you can also pick up a selection of wallet-friendly, stylish items for the whole family.

Tesco has just announced a 0.7 percent rise in the quarter thanks to ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earned the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.

Asda’s George clothing line earned the supermarket £1.5m in 2023, 80 per cent of clothes at Sainsbury’s were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons have also risen by 2 per cent over the past year.

How is it that supermarket fashion is so successful?

The clothing is not only affordable but also of good quality, and much of the clothing is part of programs such as the Better Cotton Initiative.

They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last for years.

And because they buy so much stock, they can deliver quickly and the volumes are cheaper.

“Very versatile, you can wear it in winter with a cropped sweater with some bootsYou can wear it casual like this, or even dress it up.”

And as the final item from her F&F purchase, Rebecca showed off a pair of £18 trousers, as she said: “What beautiful trousers. These are what I wanted for my everyday look.

“I think these pants are so beautiful, so comfortable, I love the color.”

FASHION FANS ARE PRAISING

The Instagram clip, which was posted under the username @stylingmetrebeccahas clearly caused a lot of surprise, as the video has quickly been viewed 35,100 times.
