She then added the topper to the tree before “going in” with the bows and ribbons.
After filling out most of the branches, Michelle focuses on larger statement pieces, like crystal ornaments.
She explained that now is the time to focus on jewelry that you “want to see displayed.”
After this step, she adds even more volume to the tree with a few tufts.
She then adds all the baubles she has to the tree, because “they’re just fillers.”
“I’ll make the color-coordinating baubles, put them in the tree, and then I’ll go back in with picks,” she explained.
Michelle explained the extra steps she takes after decorating a tree.
She vacuumed up all the fallen bristles and applied a skirt to the base of the tree.
Michelle added that she always opts for pre-lit Christmas trees to avoid the hassle of hanging lights.
The decoration professional regularly shares the trees she has worked on via her social media.
Her followers shared their thoughts on the DIY work in the comments section.
How do you care for your real Christmas tree?
HERE’S what you need to know when buying a real Christmas tree:
First things first: buy a jar (if it isn’t already in).
You should treat your tree like a houseplant and give it water and attention.
Make sure the container has good drainage. It’s a good idea to put something underneath to catch the excess water.
Check the soil every day to make sure it is not drying out.
If it feels dry, give it some water. If it still feels damp, leave it alone as too much water can also kill a tree.
Also check that the LED bulbs of your tree lights are not too hot, as this can burn them, and keep your tree away from radiators.
Once Christmas is over, try planting it in the garden so you can dig it up and use it again next year.
However, it is a good idea to remove it from the pot when you replant it, as large trees do not survive well in pots as their roots need room to grow.
“You are so amazing! Thank you so much for showing us your videos and how you make these trees look amazing,” one viewer wrote.
“I really appreciate this! I feel like watching your videos is like preparing for a big game and watching B-roll. Working on my big tree today and thinking of you!” said another TikTok user.
“Thanks! I’ve always wanted to know,” an impressed third responded.
“I’ve improved my Christmas tree game so much watching your videos!” wrote another follower.
“You’ve taken my tree game to the next level! I get compliments all the time and I owe that to your expertise combined with my style,” said one viewer.
