I’m a dog trainer and three breeds will make you never want to own a dog again
A dog trainer has revealed three breeds he said will make you never want to own a dog again, including one that ‘can’t handle average Joes’.
Speaking on behalf of experts in the field of dog behavior @cherryhoggsthe trainer revealed that certain breeds are not suitable for novice owners without experience.
Dogs
According to the trainer, dogs should not be purchased by novice owners because they “have to live on a 100-acre farm.”
“They should live a natural canine lifestyle,” he revealed, saying the pets are not suitable for “city lovers.”
Working line dogs
The trainer added that working line dogs (dogs bred to excel at a particular job, such as guard dogs or police dogs) should not be considered by first-time pet owners.
Working line dogs can range from German Shepherds to Bloodhounds and all have different abilities.
However, the trainer said that “even a dog as beautiful as a Labrador” should not be considered a pet if it is a working dog.
He said, “If you get a working Labrador, you’re royally screwed.”
Pit bulls
Pit Bull terriers are banned in Britain, so it’s no surprise that this breed has ended up on the trainer’s list.
He said, “Average Joes should never own a pit bull, simply put.”
“They are dangerous.”
The trainer explained that inexperienced dog owners do not use proper forms of communication with their pit bulls and do not exercise them properly.
He said dog owners tend to choose a dog they like rather than a dog they like to take their lifestyle.
The video has probably struck a chord with many people as it has already been viewed over 194,000 times on the video sharing platform.
TikTok users rushed to the comments section of the video to share their thoughts, with many disagreeing with the trainer’s advice.
