I’m a dry cleaner, a £2 Home Bargain purchase easily removes foundation on white tops
A PROFESSIONAL dry cleaner demonstrated the DIY techniques you can use to protect your clothes from tough stains.
The laundry expert revealed the budget beauty buy that instantly removes foundation from most materials, including white tops.
In its viral videoTikTok user Zachary Pozniak (@jeeves_ny) shared the quick trick with his followers.
The TikToker, who describes himself as “New York’s best dry cleaner,” said he swears by a simple process.
To demonstrate, he applied a pump of foundation to a square of white fabric.
He then placed the fabric on an old towel, which he described as an essential step.

He then covered the stained area with his secret weapon, micellar water.
You can pick up a bottle Nuage micellar water for just €2.49 at Home Bargains.
Zachary then worked the solution into the stain with a plastic utensil and rubbed it until the stain began to fade.
“Work the stain so that it transfers to the towel,” said the dry cleaning expert.
“Repeat this process until it is mostly off.”
He lifted the material to show his followers the foundation stain on the towel.
Zachary recommended using the same technique to remove mascara stains.
He also demonstrated the best process to use if you notice lipstick stains on your white clothes.
Instead of using micellar water, he replaced it with liquid detergent.
He then worked that into the stained area, dabbing to remove excess product.
He then placed the item on a normal wash cycle and viewed the results.
Even more winter washing tips
Tackling winter laundry can be a challenge, but these helpful tips can help you stay on top of it:
- Use a dehumidifier: Place a dehumidifier in your drying room to speed up the drying process and prevent moisture.
- Spin cycle boost: Run an extra spin cycle on your washing machine to remove excess water from clothes, which will reduce drying time.
- Indoor drying rack: Invest in a good quality indoor drying rack and place it near a radiator or in a well-ventilated area.
- Tumble dryer balls: Add dryer balls to your dryer to help clothes dry faster and reduce static cling.
- Space saving hangers: Use space-saving hangers or a retractable clothesline to maximize indoor drying space.
- Microfiber towels: Place microfiber cloths over your drying rack to absorb extra moisture from hanging clothes.
- Partly dry outside: Hang the clothes outside on dry days before bringing them inside to dry.
These hacks can help you keep your laundry routine efficient and your clothes fresh, even during the colder months.
If any color remains from the stain, he recommends treating it with oxygen bleach such as hydrogen peroxide.
