I’m a flight attendant and I dread seeing honeymooners board the plane – here’s why

A flight attendant has exposed the worst kind of airline passengers – and it’s not the Karens.

According to Suzanne Bucknam, the people most afraid of trolley cars are newlyweds on their honeymoon.

The former flight attendant complained that newlyweds “think they deserve everything”

“Just because they celebrate doesn’t mean others should celebrate or contribute to that celebration,” she said.

“If you get a free upgrade or a free drink, fantastic!

“But please don’t demand one from an unsuspecting flight attendant.

“As an employee who has been in that situation, it’s just annoying when there are no upgrades available.

“Also, it is against airline policy to give away free stuff.”

Suzanne remembers a time when she had to move a couple to a new flight because they wanted to sit next to each other on an already booked flight.

“They were hoping for a free upgrade by confirming their status as newlyweds, but the passenger next to her (rightly) denied their request,” the former flight attendant said.

The situation worsened when the husband raised his voice, causing them to be thrown off the plane.

“We didn’t want them to bother the woman for the entire four-hour flight or sit next to her.”

Suzanne also warned that if you get too intimate with your lover (and try to join the Mile-High Club), you could face more than a fine.

“A kiss on the lips or holding hands does not justify disgusting status,” she said.

“But kissing and putting a blanket on each other’s lap becomes very uncomfortable for everyone around.

“I’ve seen several couples try to join the Mile-High Club, either in the bathroom or, worse, on their chair with the blanket over them.

Airplane etiquette

IF you’re planning a trip anytime soon, here are some unwritten airplane etiquette rules to keep in mind…

RECLINED CHAIR: Podcast host and etiquette expert Nick Leighton explained that you shouldn’t recline your seat if the passenger behind you is working on their laptop.

He said, “Nobody likes their laptop getting broken in half.”

Before you recline your seat, it’s a good idea to check what the passenger behind you is doing.

If they are using a laptop, ask for permission before pushing back your seat.

FEET: A flight attendant told The Sun: “There is a number and a letter on your boarding pass. This is the reserved seat that you have paid for.

“Your feet, which are attached to your body, must do their best to stay within this space and away from others.

“If you do want to stretch, make sure your feet are covered.”

CONVERSATION: TV travel expert Samantha Brown explained that conversations with strangers are not appreciated. She believes that others should not expect small talk.

She added: “I’m not a talker. Plane time is me time.”

“I even caught a couple with their pants around their ankles in the back of our plane once.

“We made an emergency landing and got them out of the plane and then got back in the air without them.”

If you behave naughty on an airplane, you could be arrested for public indecency.

“Flight attendants won’t be afraid to call the authorities if they see you getting too cozy with your partner,” Suzanne warned.
