I’m a Hair Transplant Surgeon – 4 Unconventional DIY Hair Growth Tricks
According to a hair transplant surgeon, GRINDING an ingredient rich in an essential mineral can help grow longer hair.
Dr. Matee Rajput shared some unconventional home remedies that have amazed people who want to grow their hair.
Doctor Rajput is a hair transplant surgeon from the United Kingdom and Surgical Director at the KSL Clinic.
In an interview with The US Sun, he shared four little-known tips to boost hair growth.
HYDRATING MASK
Dr Rajput said many people have had positive experiences with home remedies despite the lack of scientific evidence.
Eggs are widely used in hair care and can be mixed with other basic cooking ingredients for impressive results.

“Egg yolk is rich in proteins and fats that nourish the hair, while olive oil provides moisture and strength,” he said.
Mix one or two egg yolks with a tablespoon of olive oil and apply the mixture to your scalp and hair.
“Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing with cold water and a mild shampoo.”
MINERAL MASSAGE
An ingredient known for its strong scent contains a mineral that can work wonders for longer hair.
“Garlic is high in sulfur and selenium, which are thought to strengthen hair and promote hair growth,” he said.
“Crush a few cloves of garlic and soak them in warm olive or coconut oil for a few hours or overnight.
“Strain the oil and massage it into your scalp. Leave it on for an hour before rinsing it out.”
SCALP STIMULATOR
Dr. Rajput suggested mixing two natural ingredients to nourish the scalp and create the perfect environment for hair growth.
“Aloe vera soothes the scalp, reduces dandruff and conditions the hair,” he said.
“Castor oil is known for its high content of ricinoleic acid, which can promote hair growth.
These unconventional methods may not be scientifically proven, but many people have found them helpful from personal experience.

Mix equal parts of aloe vera gel and castor oil, apply it on the scalp and hair and leave it on overnight.
“Wash it out the next morning with a mild shampoo.”
HERB HACK
Any home remedy should be tested on a small patch of skin to avoid allergic reactions.
Dr. Rajput discovered that herbal tea can stimulate hair growth if applied topically instead of drinking it.
“Green tea is rich in antioxidants, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which can stimulate hair follicles and promote hair growth,” he said.
“Break a strong cup of green tea, let it cool and use it as a final rinse after shampooing.
“Leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.”
