I’m a pet sitter, but there are two breeds that I can’t wait to get rid of every day

A dog breed known for its stubborn behavior has repeatedly left a pet sitter counting down the countdown until its owner returns.

She confessed that the breed is not the only dog that is difficult to care for.

The mother spoke candidly about her experiences with different dog breeds in response to a post asking which dog breeds to avoid.

She vowed to “take every dog” offered on Rover, an app that allows sitters and walkers to connect with pet owners.

However, there are several dogs that she “can’t wait” for their stay to be over.

“Stupid, overactive Goldens and Labs,” she continued Reddit.

“I understand you’re cute. I understand you are the family dog, but good lord, they are stupid, overactive goldens and labs that are annoying and hairy.

“My very first client was an 18-month-old giant golden doodle who relentlessly terrorized my toddler.

“The longest three days of our lives.”

She revealed that huskies topped her list of the worst breeds because of their high energy.

“I just don’t have the internal athleticism to keep them entertained and the one husky duo we saw was so stubborn and obnoxious,” she said.

“The second time we looked, she was better behaved, but she was only motivated so she learned she could be ‘bad’ so I would bribe her with a treat.”

I paid £525 for a ‘teacup chihuahua’ but it ended up being anything but – I’ll never buy anything online again

Many people upvoted the mother’s comment, and huskies were mentioned in the discussion by other pet sitters.

“You have two of my top three just take the doodle out and I say shepherd instead lol,” said one.

“To be honest, I try to avoid small breeds,” another commented.

“It’s just my preference.

“I noticed that they require a bit of attention and suffer most from separation anxiety, because people are always picking them up, carrying them and taking care of them.

“They have the most difficulty (for me) being boarded away from home.

“But in addition to the breeds I definitely try to avoid are Bulldogs, Frenchies, Beagles, Huskies and Chihuahuas.

“Although I’m looking at two beagles now, they can be tricky at times.”

Foods you can’t give your dog

Barbara Hanly, dog wellness expert and founder of Soopa – healthy, plant-based dog treats – revealed which human foods your pup can’t eat.

  1. Chocolate: Chocolate contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and can cause everything from stomach upset to seizures, depending on how much is eaten.
  2. Grapes & Raisins: Even a small amount of grapes or raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs, which can lead to serious health problems or even death.
  3. Onions & Garlic: These can cause damage to your dog’s red blood cells, which can lead to anemia. Even small amounts can have harmful effects over time.
  4. Avocado: Avocados contain persin, a substance that is toxic to dogs and in large quantities leads to vomiting, diarrhea and more serious health problems.
  5. Macadamia Nuts: These nuts can cause weakness, vomiting, tremors and hyperthermia in dogs, even in small amounts. It’s best to avoid them completely!

A third pet sitter hinted that the challenging breeds are the most available for sitting.

“German shepherds, huskies, Frenchies. Doodles too, if you can live without them, they said.

The complaints about huskies may not be as surprising as the Blue Cross has revealed that they need at least two hours of exercise a day.

Experts recommend taking the dog for regular runs or bike rides to ensure his needs are met.

Because they can climb over fences or dig under them, they should be kept in a safe home.

Separation problems can also occur if Arctic breeds are left alone for long periods of time.
