In her videoDr. Sarmela Sunder (@drsarmelasunder) explained that some small habits can prevent you from getting a smooth complexion.

The “TikTok beauty doc” also revealed the best water temperature for showering if you want to prevent wrinkles.

Her first recommendation was that the doctor should not rub or pull the skin around her eyes.

“[It] is very fragile and sensitive,” the medical expert warned her audience.

“Be careful when removing makeup around the eyes and do not rub too hard.

She added that irritation of the skin around the eyes can also lead to hyperpigmentation.

In her next anti-aging tip, Dr. Sunder explains why facial exercises often do more harm than good.

She discovered that ‘hyperactive movements’ of the facial muscles cause them to work overtime.

This in turn creates more wrinkles, as they tend to form in areas where muscles move repeatedly.

She gave the example of raising your eyebrows, opening your mouth wide, or frowning.

People accuse me of having Botox because my skin is so smooth, but that’s because of a serum from the high street – I’m aging backwards

The doctor demonstrated which different facial expressions can enhance wrinkles.

According to the expert, these exaggerated facial expressions often cause wrinkles on the forehead, frown and mouth.

The plastic surgeon also advised avoiding hot showers if possible.

She explained that hot water “can compromise the skin’s natural moisture barrier.”

Instead, Dr. Sunder advised her audience to opt for lukewarm or even cold water, especially when washing their faces.

Anti-aging tips

  • Keep your skin hydrated from within by drinking water and externally with moisturizing cream.
  • Always use sunscreeneven if you are not in direct sunlight.
  • Usage vitamin C to brighten the skin. Don’t forget to apply it to your neck too.
  • Wash your skin twice a day and after heavy sweating.
  • Cleanse gently and avoid scrubbing when removing makeup.

Her followers shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments.

“[I] “Literally take hot showers twice a day,” wrote one concerned viewer.

“Careful, of course,” agreed another impressed TikTok user.

A third person noted that he had forwarded the advice to his wife.

“She loves water [in her showers] “It’s boiling,” he explained.
