I’m a Pregnant Mom – 8 Things You Can Get for Free, Including an Amazon Gift
Being pregnant can be exhausting, but it can also come with its perks when it comes to free stuff.
Megan Micklewright, owner of The Savvy Spender, shared eight things pregnant women can get for free to help them financially.
The money-saving expert told Fabulous: “The best way to access free resources is to keep in touch with your midwife and ask her questions.
Also sign up for apps like Pregnancy+, Emma’s Diary and Bounty. That way you stay up to date on all the free pregnancy gifts and discounts.
“I’m a mother myself and I also share all the free gifts I come across on Instagram and TikTok.”

DENTAL CARE
First on her list is free NHS dental care during pregnancy and for a year after the baby is born.
The NHS website stated: ‘You are entitled to free NHS dental care if you are pregnant or have had a child in the last 12 months at the time you are accepted for your treatment.
“To prove your entitlement, you can use a MatB1 certificate, a valid maternity exemption certificate, a birth registration form, a birth certificate or a stillbirth certificate.”
RECEPTIONS
Megan added that the next What you can get for free with your health insurance are prescriptions.
She shared: “This could include things like Gaviscon for any mums who suffer from heartburn.”
The NHS states: “To claim free NHS prescriptions, ask a healthcare professional, for example a doctor, nurse, midwife or health visitor. They will help you create a paper or digital application.”
SWIMMING SESSIONS
Next on Megan’s list was free access to a pool for exercise.
She shared: “Some councils and recreation centers offer FREE swimming for pregnant women.
“Call your local center and ask if they have any free sessions or discounts.”
EMMA’S DIARY PACKAGES
Megan then excitedly shared that she had received a free Emma’s Diary gift pack when she was pregnant.
The TikToker responded: “Full of little freebies that you can pick up at places like Boots once you register online for free.”
The Emma’s diary website states: “The FREE Emma’s Diary Mother & Baby Gift Packs are packed with freebies from BIG brands and samples, hand-picked for you to try throughout your pregnancy.
“Some are also very handy to carry in your hospital bag!”

PRENATAL LESSONS
Megan also recommends asking your midwife if there are any prenatal classes offered in your area.
The NHS states: ‘Antenatal classes can help you prepare for the birth of your baby and give you confidence and information.
“They are usually informative and fun, and they are free through the NHS.”
AMAZON ARTICLE
According to the smart saver, you can get a free item from Amazon if you create a wish list for your baby there.
Megan claims you have to spend £20 to qualify for the free item, but it could be a free nappy bin, baby bottles, a bath set or a bath toy.”
Amazon says: “When you create a baby wishlist and spend at least £20 on qualifying baby products, you’ll receive a free welcome gift.
Create an Amazon baby wishlist and wait 5 days before redeeming your free gift (if you don’t have one already).
“Start adding eligible items: baby products shipped and sold by Amazon.”
ITEM FROM PARENT CLUBS
Megan mentioned that some parenting clubs, like Boots, give away a free item when you sign up.
She wrote: “Get an Aveeno product when you sign up.”
The Boots Parenting Club offers you benefits such as ‘8 points per £1 on baby products’. free gifts at key stages of your baby’s development, expert advice for parents, Parenting Club offers via the Boots app.”
The website states: “Join Boots Parenting Club to receive your selected Aveeno product.”
EXTRAS
In addition to the above, Megan said there are other freebies you get if you are accepted after applying.
The first one she suggested was Healthy Start voucherswhich is usually offered to people who receive universal credit.
The NHS website states: ‘If you are more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4, you may be entitled to help with buying healthy food and milk.
“If you are eligible, you will receive a Healthy Start card with money on it that you can use in some UK stores. We will add your benefits to this card every 4 weeks.
“You can use your card to buy regular liquid cow’s milk, fresh, frozenand canned fruits and vegetables, fresh, dried and canned legumes, infant formula based on cow’s milk.
“You can also use your card to save up for Healthy Start vitamins – these support you during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and vitamin drops for babies and young children – these are suitable from birth to 4 years.”
Megan also advised the government Sure Start Maternity Grant where you can receive a one-off payment of £500 if you qualify.
