A SINGLE mother has left people divided after revealing she is refusing to cook her family’s Christmas dinner this year.

The woman sparked heated debate after complaining that her family kept making demands during the holidays, but the favor was never returned.

Take to Mothernetshe added that the tiring process of organizing Christmas dinner means she has less time to spend with her son.

She said: “I am a single parent and have been cooking Christmas dinner for the family for a few years but I find it tiring.

‘I literally do everything, and I mean everything.

“One year I was so exhausted that I fell asleep on the couch.”

The mother revealed that her parents do not help at all and constantly ask for tea refills.

“I feel like I’m losing precious time with my little one because I’m too busy to spend time with him.”

The mother has told her family that she wants to spend Christmas alone with her son this year, as her parents have not offered to help her or organize the festivities themselves.

In response, her parents said they would just eat a steak on Christmas Day, and her adult daughter said she would just go to her partner’s house.

“I’m not sure how I feel to be honest, but I’m definitely looking forward to a peaceful day with my little one.”

Most were inundated with mixed reactions, with some people wondering why the mother was complaining when she told them what she wanted, and they agreed.

One person said: “Does it sound like you asked for something and got it? If you wanted to be together but didn’t want to cook you should have just told them, ordered everything from M&S or something and split the cost.”

Another person wrote: “You say you don’t know how you feel about it, but you still got what you hoped for: a quiet Christmas.”

A third person said: “Wait, you said you just wanted to stay with your little one and have a quiet day and they said okay.

“And now you’re angry?”
