I’m a smart shopper and bought a trendy Zara bag for half the price with an underrated trick
A MODE fan has revealed her simple trick to buying Zara items for much cheaper – and you’ll get a tan too.
Eve Fallon regularly shares her shopping hauls and outfit picks on social media (@evefallon).
In a recent clip, the 25-year-old showed off the purchases she made during her vacation.
Eve – from Scotland – is currently enjoying the sun in Andalusia, Spain.
There she went to the local mall and bought a cute pinstripe co-ord from Pull & Bear.
She was disappointed with the prices at Mango, but then hit the jackpot at Zara, where she spotted a gorgeous white beaded bag in the sale.
Eve said: “I’ve been thinking about this bag for ages
“My friend bought it and gave it to me at her baby shower and I thought, ‘I have to have that.’
“But it’s so expensive, in the shop in Glasgow it’s only £50.”
The mini bowling bag with imitation pearls will cost you £49.99 in UK stores and online.
But that’s not what Eve paid for abroad.
“I found it [on holiday]I looked at it and thought: but it’s so expensive for a bag until I saw boom [sale sticker].
“It costs €25.99. I bought it for €25.99”
At the current exchange rate that’s £21.84, meaning the smart Eve has saved £28.15.
So if you’re looking for something expensive on the high street, it might be worth waiting until your next holiday to compare prices.
If this has inspired you to head to your nearest Zara, one shopper has revealed a groundbreaking trick to avoiding long lines. And it’s thanks to a little-known feature in their app.
Jess Bell, who has 123,000 followers thanks to her fashion looks, shared: “This is how you skip the fitting room line at Zara every time.
“I’ve been shopping at Zara for years and I don’t know how many people don’t know about this app, but all you have to do is literally download the Zara app, you click on the shopping mode and you get a QR code.”
She continued: “You open your Zara app, turn on location services, click on where you are, women’s or men’s clothing, and you’re done.
“I have one I want to try on, but of course it skips all those people and just shows my QR code.
“Skip the line.
“They have one ready for people on the app and I’m going to try it out.
“I found out about this years and years ago and I think more people should come into contact with this.”
Why is Zara so popular?
Zara was founded in Spain in 1975 and opened its first store in the UK in 1998. It remains one of the most popular stores on the high street, but why?
Instead of producing larger quantities of a particular item, Zara would focus on producing more items.
Some statistics suggest that Zara releases 24 trend-led collections each year, 500 designs per week and almost 20,000 per year. Other estimates put production levels at 450 million garments per year.
Even if a style sells out very quickly, there are new styles ready to take the space. This means more choices and a greater chance of doing well with consumers.
Zara only leaves the designs in the store for three to four weeks. This keeps the consumer visiting the store or website. If they are just a week too late, the clothes of a certain style or trend are sold out and replaced by a new trend.
At the same time, the continuous renewal of the lines and styles in the stores ensures that customers come to the stores more often.
