In her viral videoTikTok user Afsennah (@afsennah) explained the mistakes to her followers.

She revealed that these habits have been proven to “sabotage your hair growth.”

Her first recommendation was that Afsennah advised everyone not to smoke.

She explained that this unhealthy addiction constricts blood vessels, limiting the supply of nutrients to your hair.

The hair professional also explained the damaging effects stress can have on your locks.

Although it is less easy to control than smoking, you should make sure to avoid stress if you want to maintain healthy hair.

“Stress can cause your hair follicles to go into a resting phase, causing more hair to fall out than normal,” she says.

“It can also disrupt your hormone balance, which can lead to hair loss or thinning hair.”

Malnutrition can also have a negative effect on your hair and other parts of your body.

According to the expert, depriving your hair of essential nutrients, minerals and proteins can cause significant damage.
