Callum has seen her share of highs and lows in football, with one of the most exciting moments being Carlisle United’s promotion to League One after beating Stockport County on penalties at Wembley last year.

But the team has also suffered many losses over the years, with Abbie becoming the target of angry football fans.

“When your team is on a roll and on a winning streak, it can be very easy to get caught up in that life,” Abbie said in a video on her TikTok page.

“But it is impossible to win every match and that is when real hatred can arise.

“When your own fans turn against you, it can literally be traumatizing.

“Fans have sent me hate messages that I had to pass on to my husband.

“It can get this bad!”

Abbie added that she is fully aware that a football match “can mean everything to some people”, but that it “should never go so deep that a message of hate is sent out into the world”.

“The preparation that goes into a competition and all the hard work you see your partner doing can literally be over in 90 minutes,” she continued.

“The only comparison I can make is with the Wembley final. Back then, the whole nation wasn’t watching my husband and hoping and praying that he would win.
