Q) I recently returned to work after a seven year hiatus while raising my children. A family friend offered me a job as a receptionist at her small business.

The problem is that I am very introverted and find it stressful to talk to strangers, so being a receptionist is my worst nightmare!

I don’t want to be ungrateful and I really appreciate having a job that ties in with picking up and dropping off kids from school, but I dread going to work every day and still feel anxious after I leave. the office.

A) It sounds like you’re in a tough situation, where you have to balance gratitude for your job against the stress it causes.

If you feel mentally strong enough to face your fears and make this job happen, I encourage you to have an honest conversation with your friend.
