I’m called a catfish for hiding my fat chin – trolls tell me to lose weight
WE all love to experiment with different makeup looks, but one woman was criticized for taking it too far.
US-based Jasmine regularly shared her makeup looks on social media, but internet trolls called her a ‘catfish’.
The term ‘catfish’ refers to someone who pretends to be someone else on social media in order to deceive or attract other people. According to some, women can catfish people by wearing makeup, including Jasmine.
In a recent clip, Jasmine hit out at haters who claimed she should start exercising instead of trying to hide her “big” chin with contouring.
In the clip, she finishes her look by using a contour stick on her chin and writing “NO,” before blending it out.
Then the beautician looked straight into the camera to show how she hides her double chin with makeup so she doesn’t have to exercise after all.

Another troll noted: “This isn’t about weight shaming, it’s facts. If you diet and exercise you will lose fat and therefore look better.”
But Jasmine wasn’t going to listen to some anonymous hater on the internet.
She replied: “I said I was fat, not ugly.”
The woman seemed completely unfazed by the hate, responding with a “yes” to those who called her a catfish.
It seemed that many of the people who left negative comments were men, while her female fans loved Jasmine’s transformations, which show how much difference good makeup techniques can make.
The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @wildflower.jasmine with over 13 million views and over 1.1 million likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts on her transformation in the comments and were very divided.
Someone wrote: “Maximum catfish.”
Another commented: “You are beautiful. Don’t listen to them.”
“You are beautiful just the way you are. Don’t listen to all those insecure people on the internet,” wrote a third.
What is contouring?
Contouring is a makeup technique used to define and enhance the natural structure of the face by using makeup products that are slightly darker and lighter than your skin tone. The goal is to create the illusion of depth and dimension, giving your face a more sculpted appearance.
Step 1: Highlighting
Goal: To bring out the parts of your face that you want to emphasize.
Choose a highlighter: Choose a concealer, foundation or highlighter that is 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone.
Apply to key areas: Apply the highlighter to the high points of your face where light naturally hits. These areas typically include:
The center of your forehead, The bridge of your nose, Under your eyes, in a triangular shape, The tops of your cheekbones, The center of your chin, The area around your brow bone.
Blending: Use a damp beauty sponge, brush or your fingers to blend the highlighter into your skin for an even look.
Step 2: Contours
Goal: To create shadows and add depth to the areas of the face that you want to appear more defined.
Choose a contour shade: Select a contour product, cream, stick or powder that is 1-2 shades darker than your natural skin tone.
Apply to key areas: Apply the contour product to areas where shadows naturally occur. These areas typically include:
The hollows of your cheeks, just below your cheekbones, Along your hairline and temples, The sides of your nose, if you want to make it narrower, Along your jawline.
Blend: Blend the contour lines well with a beauty sponge, brush or your fingers. Make sure there are no hard lines and that everything looks natural.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Or just leave her alone and let her do what she wants.”
“That’s insane,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Some people are just mean, you are beautiful just the way you are.”
