I’m called a pedo because I married a ‘ten year old boy’ – now we’re pregnant

A woman who was branded a pedophile after followers mistook her wife for a ten-year-old boy has announced she is expecting triplets.

Lauren and Hannah Kaye tied the knot this summer after two years of dating.

But the 31-year-old didn’t expect the barrage of abuse that was to follow.

The pair are constantly watched by strangers because, despite being 29 years old (just three years younger than Lauren), Hannah is often mistaken for a ten-year-old schoolboy.

But the rebellious couple, who are now months away from becoming parents after IVF using Hannah’s eggs and donor sperm, have learned to ignore their haters.

‘People think I married a schoolboy and have his children. They are ridiculous and uneducated,” said Lauren, 31, who has a 10-year-old son and a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

“They don’t realize that my ‘ten-year-old’ wife is actually a 29-year-old woman.

“We are very happy to have triplets and we don’t care what people think they see. It makes us laugh.”

Social media promoter Lauren, who lives near Kingston, Surrey, and specialist engineer Hannah, are bracing for more reactions as the birth of their babies, due in June, approaches.

“I know the abuse will only get worse now that I’m pregnant,” says Lauren.

“I won’t get stressed out by the haters.”

The couple met on Tinder two years ago and immediately hit it off.

Hannah proposed in January 2024 and the couple married seven months later at a registry office in Surrey.

They both knew they wanted to be parents and almost immediately flew to Northern Cyprus for the first round of IVF.

Having two children already excluded Lauren from NHS treatment in Britain.

The women spent £9,000 on mutual IVF, a fertility treatment option available to female same-sex couples and known as shared motherhood.

This involves collecting eggs from one woman and fertilizing them with donor sperm before the embryos are implanted in the uterus of another woman.

“We chose a Swedish sperm donor because it best matched our skin color and appearance,” Hannah explains.

While Hannah underwent a cycle of stimulation to help her body produce the maximum number of eggs for harvest, Lauren underwent uterine stimulation to prepare her body for pregnancy.

The couple says the treatment was grueling.

Lauren recalls: “It’s an exhausting and stressful process. Hannah had her eggs harvested and only three reached the successful fertilization stage.

“We decided to have all three implanted so we had the best chance of becoming pregnant.

“We knew that the chances of the three embryos staying in the womb were incredibly low and the clinic’s doctors advised us that this was the best decision to make.”

Three days after the implant in September, Lauren felt unwell and took a pregnancy test.

“We were told to wait two weeks before testing, but I just had a feeling. When the test came back positive, Hannah and I were overwhelmed,” she says.

“Getting a positive pregnancy result three days after implantation is unheard of. It was a miracle.”

JOY MOMENT

Two weeks later, a blood test confirmed Lauren was expecting – and a scan revealed she was not only pregnant with not one baby, but three.

“I was pregnant with triplets. It was a joyful moment for both of us,” says Lauren.

All three embryos are in independent placentas and Lauren undergoes scans every two weeks to monitor the multiple pregnancy.

“Hannah and I joke that we have a ‘three for one deal,’” she says.

“The fact that we have reached the three-month mark and that all babies are developing happily is another miracle.”

Lauren and Hannah have been warned that the risk of losing one or more of the babies is high and they know that triplets can often lead to premature birth.

“We are prepared for anything and hope for the best possible outcome,” says Lauren.

Vicious attacks

But the couple’s happy news hasn’t stopped trolls from writing mean comments on Lauren’s Instagram.

The haters started trolling when the couple uploaded their wedding photos on social media.

“Some people thought it was cute that my 10-year-old son walked down the aisle with me,” says Lauren.

“While others viciously attacked me for kissing a ten-year-old boy. Even today we walk down the street and people scream.

“Hannah is tough, but at first I was angry that our amazing wedding day photos had been attacked.

“Now I know the trolls are so narrow-minded. There is no point in doing business with them.”

Lauren has learned to see the funny side of Hannah’s youthful jokes.

“I have paid thousands of pounds to look younger and change my body and appearance, but my wife is just lucky because she has incredible genes,” she says.

“I am convinced that Hannah will never grow older. Our babies will be beautiful and youthful.”

But Hannah admits her youthful appearance also has some downsides and is repeatedly asked for her ID.

She reveals: “Buying alcohol, a lottery ticket or even traveling is difficult.

“We were in an adults-only hotel and the staff told Lauren she couldn’t bring her 10-year-old son. Now we just smile and have ID with us.”

HOW TO REPORT SOCIAL MEDIA TROLLS

Formerly known as Twitter, X is one of the most common platforms for social media trolls, so its bosses have come up with many ways to combat the keyboard warriors.

The social media site is fighting back against trolls with:

  • A ‘mute’ feature that allows users to block notifications based on certain keywords and phrases
  • By letting users collect multiple tweets, and therefore multiple users, in one complaint report, a so-called ‘moment’
  • You can also report an entire profile if it is set up purely for spamming or posting malicious content

On Facebook, you can report offensive photos and posts by clicking the arrow in the top right corner and then clicking ‘report post’.

On Instagram, you can click the ellipses in the top right corner of the post to report a post. The same ellipses can be found next to individual responses.

The method can be used on TikTok to report both videos and comments.

Lauren, who first made headlines in January last year when she shared her astonishing 15th weight loss after having a gastric sleeve fitted, says meeting Hannah changed her life.

“I knew I was gay, but I was in denial most of my life,” she says.

“I lost my father in a plane crash in 1999 and my mother found love with another woman and as a result I was severely bullied.

“I had two children with a man who was determined to have what I thought was my idea of ’normal’. It wasn’t.

“Finally accepting my true self, completing a surgical makeover and losing weight and finding Hannah and her love was the key to the new me.

“I have had a makeover both mentally and physically. Now I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”

As the couple prepares for motherhood, Lauren says her focus is on her wife, family, pregnancy and career.

But Lauren faces a battle as she has been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

She says this pregnancy is much more difficult than her previous two.

“When I was carrying my first two children, I had easy pregnancies. I have had some morning sickness, but nothing like with the triplets,” she says.

‘It is likely that the babies will be born prematurely. That can mean a long period in the hospital ICU.

The more clicks the more money I make and the better it is for my family…the trolls increase my income so bring it on

Lauren Kaye

“We are looking for baby items, but we don’t buy things in threes, we don’t want to jinx anything.

“Reaching the end of the first trimester is a milestone. But we know that the risk of miscarriage is still there.

“Our focus is on welcoming the three healthy babies. Growing our amazing family and building from there.”

And as for the trolls, Lauren says she has the last laugh: She has 29,000 followers on Instagram and even negative comments make her money.

She explains: “The more clicks, the more money I make and the better it is for my family.

“The trolls increase my income, so bring it on, I say.”

She adds: “Ten years ago I thought the future was bleak.

“Now I earn my money online. I am healthier, a new woman, more in love than ever before and expecting triplets.

“Let the trolls say what they want, I’ve never been happier.”
