‘I’m happy and safe,’ says Laura Hamilton after loving photos with married man
Laura Hamilton’s property expertise and ultra-glamorous looks have helped make A Place In The Sun one of Channel 4’s most-watched programmes.
Since joining the popular series in 2012, the 42-year-old has become a fan favorite, with over 200,000 followers on Instagram and a recent bikini photo garnering over 11,000 likes.
But the admiration isn’t all positive. Some fans simply refuse to believe that her glamorous looks aren’t helped.
The mother-of-two, who is back on screen for a new season of A Place In The Sun, says she feels better than ever after years of struggling with her body confidence, but that internet trolls won’t let her go without a fight.
Laura told The Sun: “It’s really hard when you read comments like, ‘Oh, she’s done this to her face way too much.’
“And I think these are my cheekbones. I didn’t do anything to my cheekbones.

“That’s my face, and unfortunately that’s how it is. Or people say, ‘Oh, she has fake boobs.’ And then I’m like, I don’t actually have those. But if people want to believe that.”
She adds: “It’s a bit laughable that people make statements without knowing the facts.”
She also thinks that as she gets older, she will be better able to deal with the trolls, because “the older you get, the better you feel in general.”
She adds: “I feel happier with myself and more secure in myself and who I am.
“You’re always going to get criticism from someone, or they’re going to dislike you, or they’re going to say you have big boobs, or small boobs, or big legs, or fat legs, or you like short legs or long legs… you can never please everyone, but the only person you really have to please and worry about is yourself.
“And as long as you’re happy with yourself, that’s all that matters.
“Those who are very close to me, who know me for who I am, my mother, father and children, and I am fortunate to have a close group of friends who support me, who accept and love each other for who we are, and who know the truth.
“And that is really the most important thing.”
The former children’s TV presenter, who has been buying and selling houses since she was 19, previously admitted she once considered having her 28FF breasts reduced after years of back pain and being bullied about her larger breasts, but later changed her mind.
The star admits that now in her 40s, she takes collagen injections every day and recently lost 20 pounds.
She says: “I take golden collagen shots every day and I ran the London Marathon in April for WellChild. I’ve never run a marathon before. I’m not someone who’s ever been into long-distance running, to be honest, but I do love fitness. I love keeping active.
“I’ve never smoked. I have a drink now and then and I think I have a pretty healthy lifestyle overall. Yesterday I felt like I had a major meltdown because I had eaten so much at a meeting and then I came home and had a nasty Indian takeaway curry. So I definitely have moments like that.”
She continues: “But because I ran the London Marathon I decided I wanted to try and lose a stone, not a lot, but I think it’s all about how you feel and how your clothes fit. And I just started feeling a bit ‘meh’.
“So I’ve lost a stone, but I’ve been on a program, which is a high protein, low carb diet, and that’s what I’ve been doing. I’m eating every three hours, and that just works for me.”

Laura has two children, a son Rocco, 10, and a daughter Tahlia, 9, with her ex-husband and insurance broker Alex Goward, 43.
The presenter is believed to have been in a relationship with 44-year-old married CEO James Pettigrew since January.
And James, who is in the process of divorcing his wife, clearly can’t keep his hands off Laura: the two were recently photographed kissing in the front seat of a car during a break from filming in Spain.
It’s her first relationship since splitting from her husband of 10 years, Alex, in 2022. Laura admits she’s “constantly on the go” as she juggles work and her kids.
She also recently bought her first home abroad: a major renovation project.
Laura spontaneously bought the six-bedroom house in Pollensa, Mallorca.
Laura says, “I’m like that when it comes to real estate, I look at so many houses all the time. I’ve been renovating houses since I was 19, that if you know something’s good, you know something’s good.
“I have always loved Mallorca and I have always said: if I were to buy something anywhere, I would want to do it in Mallorca. And that is what I did.
“I was there filming and had an afternoon off. I had been looking at houses online and then I went to see a few in person. When I walked in the second time, I thought, ‘This is it. I’m going to buy it.'”
Laura, who shares her renovation adventure on a new platform called My Renovation In The Sun, adds with a smile: “I love buying a derelict wreck and turning it into something beautiful.”
Breaking down the old block
And it looks like the star might have some competition, as her son is clearly a budding property developer.
Laura explains: “Last week my children were with me when I was filming near Barcelona and I have someone who travels with me a lot.
“Her name is Shelley and she helps me with the kids. I came back from filming and she said to me, ‘You won’t believe what Rocco said this afternoon. He was talking about what he’s going to do in the future.’
“And she said his idea was brilliant. He plans to set up a water sports centre on the beach, but he wouldn’t have any money at first, so he would have to sleep on the beach until he earns money from his job.
“And once he started making money with his job, he would buy an apartment that was run down, and then he would do the work on it. He would try to do as much as he could himself, try to save some money, and then he would sell it.
“She said, ‘He’s your son. He listens to you talk about renovating this and that.’ I think the kids pick up on things.”
