I’m taking my kids to Disneyland but have £0 to spend – my Vinted trick help
A mother of three revealed the trick she uses to earn money in an emergency.
She explained that she had eight days to earn money for her family’s trip to Disneyland.
In her viral videoTikTok user Sophie Bowd (@sophiebowd) revealed that their vacation budget had already been exceeded just days before departure.
“I had saved £500 to spend on our trip but long story short, a lot went wrong with my car [so] “We ended up having to spend all the money to fix it,” she said.
Sophie explained that she felt “stressed” because she “had £0 to spend.”
The TikTokker had set certain budget rules for the days leading up to the holiday, such as clearing out the freezer to avoid spending money on groceries.
However, she is confident that she can increase her budget with her Vinted bundle hack.
According to the mother, the house was “full to the brim” with children’s clothes that she could sell.
Sophie decided not to postpone the task any longer and placed most of her belongings on the site.
Although most of the items she listed were only priced at £1 to £2, she shared the trick she wanted to use to encourage shoppers to buy.
“If you buy a bundle and message me that you’re from TikTok, I’ll give you a big discount because I want to get rid of all this stuff and I’m saving this money for Disney,” she said.
She added that her ‘hoarding habit’ for clothes could easily earn her ‘hundreds of pounds’.
However, the mother also indicated that it was not easy to get rid of some sentimental items.
While taking photos for her account, she showed her audience some of the garments she was offering.
TikTok users shared their thoughts on the money-making plan in the comments.
“I’m looking forward to my package from you, happy holidays,” one viewer wrote.
“Good luck, I hope you get good results with Vinted,” said someone else.
Do I have to pay tax on items I sell on Vinted?
FAST tax facts from the Vinted team…
- The only time an item is taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is a profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then you can use your £3,000 tax-free capital gains allowance to offset it.
- Generally, only business sellers who trade for profit (buying goods with the intention of selling them for more than they paid for them) are required to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can take advantage of a £1,000 tax-free allowance, which has been in place since 2017.

“I went to Disneyland 4 times last year and I’m going again this month and what I learned is that there are cheap ways to do it! There are free buses to hotels,” a third person noted.
“I love how honest you are on here, it’s refreshing especially as a mom because so many people on here make motherhood look perfect,” said another viewer.
“Keep up the good work.”
