I’m the ultimate Taylor Swift tribute act – I’m booked for months all over the UK
A TAYLOR Swift tribute act is hoping the pop star never goes out of style, as she’s been booked for months.
Dancer and personal trainer Amy Espie, 30, was persuaded to audition as a superstar and has been inundated with bookings as the Love Story singer, 34, continues her epic Eras tour.
The Swift lookalike, from Coatbridge, said: “I made a few demo tapes and we thought I looked quite like her. We got a wig and it all seemed to fall into place.
“The demand is huge and I already have bookings well into next year.”
She added: “The days can be long, but when you’re on stage and you see all the kids’ faces and how much they’re enjoying it, all the stress of the job disappears.
“I’ve been taking singing lessons since I was five and I went to dance school, so it took a lot of preparation to become versatile, confident and capable enough to do the role.”
Amy, whose act is called Totally Taylor and is managed by Glasgow-based Tribute Act Entertainment (MUST KEEP), believes she can channel her inner star even more after seeing the singer perform at Murrayfield this summer.
The entertainer raved: “She was on stage for three hours and her energy never died, she was incredible. It was a great motivator.
“I think the Swifties are insane with their knowledge of Taylor. They’re die-hard fans and they could probably teach me a lot, but I’ve watched a lot of her videos and picked up on her mannerisms and how she performs on stage and I’m more interested in what she’s like as an artist than what she’s like in her personal life.”
Amy has custom-made outfits made to match each theme of the megastar’s music and does everything she can to emulate the record-breaking musician.
Amy revealed: “The outfits are iconic to her and actually play a really important role in the show. Each outfit represents an era of her music.
“But the wig, her iconic eyeliner and red lipstick – those are the three most important things.”
She performs today (Sunday) at M&D’s Scotland’s Theme Park and has further shows planned for England, Ireland and Wales.
Now she hopes she’ll get enough rave reviews to continue her act.
She said: “America would be great. Dubai would be great too. I want to see more of the world as Totally Taylor.”
Totally Taylor will be performing at a tribute festival at M&D’s today from 12pm. For more information visit scotlandsthemepark.com
