Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka was banned for one year after ‘multiple code of conduct violations’ and he also faced ‘substantial’ financial fine after affair with female staffer: owners face media for first time
Boston Celtics majority shareholder Wyc Grousbeck faces ‘significant financial fine’ after ‘multiple violations of Celtics code of conduct.”
Grousbeck and president of basketball operations Brad Stevens faced the media in the wake of their coach’s suspension for the entire 2022-23 NBA season.
Udoka, the head coach of the Celtics, was banned for the entire 2022-2023 season for violating team policy.
Udoka allegedly had an affair with a female member of staff within the Celtics organization.
Stevens explained that the Celtics have a duty to take care of women in their organization after the saga, amid a wave of “rampant bulls***.”
“We have a lot of talented women in our organization and I thought yesterday was very difficult for them,” Stevens said of the rumors and allusions surrounding Udoka and possible parties involved.
“Nobody can control Twitter speculation and rampant bullshit, but I do think we have a responsibility to make sure we’re there to support them.”
