In a surprise visit on Sunday, PM Modi visits PM GatiShakti Anubhuti Kendra at Bharat Mandapam | India News – Times of India
Prime Minister appreciated the progress made in planning and implementation of projects across the country due to the impact of Prime Minister GatiShakti. He praised its adoption across sectors, which increases the speed to realize the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Using the National Master Plan156 Infrastructure gaps related to first and last mile connectivity issues of key sectors of the economy such as coal, steel, fertilizers, ports, food and public distribution, etc. have also been identified by concerned ministries and departments . With digital surveys, project preparation is now faster and more accurate. The Ministry of Railways has planned more than 400 railway projects in just one year and 27,000 km of railway lines.
Prime Minister GatiShakti breaks the silos with a collective vision. The Network Planning Group (NPG) synchronizes the efforts of all ministries to ensure coherence infrastructure development. With 81 NPG meetings held, 213 projects worth Rs 15.48 lakh crore have been evaluated.
Through Prime Minister GatiShakti, the gaps in last-mile connectivity are being assessed to ensure seamless travel. It truly symbolizes a ‘whole-of-government’ approach, with 1,529 layers of data from 44 central government ministries and 36 states and universities already on board. Regional workshops and capacity building initiatives have facilitated its wider adoption.
In addition to infrastructure development, the social sector is another important area of focus. 45 lakh PVTGs (particularly vulnerable tribal groups) (11 lakh households) have been mapped across 29,000 homes using a mobile app linked to over 1,500 GIS data layers.
Prime Minister GatiShakti helps in effective planning of locations of Anganwadi centers. It helps focus on Anganwadi centers with higher nutritional needs. More than 10 lakh Anganwadi centers have been mapped in the National Master Plan.
It has also been used to identify prominent industries in districts for conducting district-specific skill courses by schools. PM Shri schools have been mapped in PM GatiShakti portal to identify other schools nearby based on geospatial information to anchor other schools nearby.
The PM GatiShakti framework has been presented at various international platforms for promoting international cooperation. International collaborations are being promoted and an MoU on knowledge sharing is being drawn up with Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister also visited the ODOP Anubhuti Kendra and appreciated the progress made by the ODOP initiative in helping in the selection, branding and promotion of products from various districts across the country.
