In the dramatic downfall of plastic surgeon ‘Sugar Daddy’ who lost his career, reputation and marriage

A former leading plastic surgeon who used Sugar Daddy websites to contact and pay girls, as young as 13 for sex, has had ‘a spectacular fall out of favor’.
Defense lawyer Philip Strickland told the Newcastle court how Richard Sackelariou, 70, had lost everything after his life changed dramatically in 2017 when he underwent a major operation and had to wear a colostomy bag for five years.
Strickland said Sackelariou, who had practices in Sydney And Melbourne And was married to two children, started using pornography before visiting Sugar Daddy websites after his wife no longer wanted sex after the operation.
The first preference of Sackelariou on the Sugar Daddy sites was for women aged 18-24, but even when he knew that his victims were younger than 18, he continued to have sex with them.
He paid six girls between 13 and 15 QueenslandBetween September 2021 and October 2022.
He argued guilty of 10 charges, including five counts of causing a child between the ages of 14 and 18 to do prostitution, a counting of using a transport service to buy someone under the age of 16 for sexual activity and a counting of causing a child of 14 years or older material for children.
Sackelariou agreed to be guilty of the ten charges after the crown had dropped 30 other charges, including eight counts of sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14 years old.
Mr. Strickland told on Tuesday a sense of shore session that Sackelariou had responded to the community before his arrest in the community.

Sackelariou told the court that he was ashamed.
“I am shocked about that person … that I have created so much damage and damage,” he said.

Sackelariou said that statements read to him in a closed court of two of his victims had been horrible to hear.
He said that his wife, who suffers from liver cancer, had been very upset and angry with him after his arrest and had since been divorced from him. His two sons refused to talk to him.
In the past by officer Kristy Mulley, Sackelariou admitted that he never thought about how his crimes would influence his victims and their families.
Mrs. Mulley said, “Even if you find out that these girls are younger than 18, you continued to chase them.”

Sackelariou would offer to pay the girls for naked photos before they arrange themselves in different hotel rooms. He would always hand the money in a white envelope.
He offered a 15-year-old girl from Sydney $ 1000 for sex, but when she refused, he increased the offer to $ 3500 for 30 minutes and they met in the Chatswood Quest Apartments.
Sackelariou will be convicted on Friday.
